About Lavender House
Built in 1897, this three storey Victorian home has only ever been occupied by two families. The Robson family employed local builders to design and construct the house. One of the daughters, Mary was the last of the Robson family to live here.
The house stood empty until Barbara & Bill Cross purchased it in 1985.
"When we first viewed the house it felt as if we were caught in a time warp," comments Barbara. Modernists and DIY fiends had not destroyed the fabric.
Gas lights were still connected in the first and second floors, all marble fireplaces were intact and even the servants bell system was still in evidence. Even though the house was cold Barbara felt sure it could be sympathetically restored and so it proved to be.
Lavender House is just a ten minute walk to Ripon city centre, yet enjoys a semi-rural location. On the walk into Ripon you pass by St Wilfrids Catholic Church designed by Joseph Hansome of Hansome cab fame. On the opposite side of the road is the Wesleyan chapel visited by John Wesley himself, who preached here.

Room Information
Bedroom
One master bedroom with large bay window, facing south. Crystal glass chandeliers, matching mahogany bedroom furniture, sitting area with easy chairs plus flat screen TV and DVD. Tea and coffee facilities available.
Dining Room
Comfortable and well furnished with antique furniture. During summer you may wish to dine in the conservatory, which over looks the garden. The garden has decking, seating and parasol for guest use.
Bathroom
Seperate Victorian bathroom for dedicated use. Cast iron roll top bath and shower with victorian style suite. Cotton bathrobes for guests use.
