We pride ourselves on extending a very warm welcome to all our guests on our 400-acre organic family working beef and sheep farm. Nestling beneth the tranquil Breidden Hills in the picturesque Severn Valley, between Shrewsbury and Welshpool.
We are proud to have obtained a Gold Welcome Host award from Visit Wales.
|The newly built extension to the farmhouse was completed in June 2000 and comprises of four en-suite spacious modern rooms. Two on the ground floor, one of which has been designed with the less agile visitor in mind offering extra wide doorways, drive in shower (no shower tray), slightly lower toilet with grab rails to the side and a lower wash basin with lever tap. Two rooms are on the first floor. A full access statement is available upon request. We are open all year with the exception of 23rd-27th December.|
All the rooms have central heating and have been furnished with pine furniture, TV's. beverage trays, radio alarm clocks etc. The dinning room is in the original farmhouse and has a log burner for the cooler months.
|A large farmhouse breakfast is assured using local produce and when possible our own eggs, a good selection of local pubs offering evening meals are just a short walk or drive away.|
Visitors are welcome to walk around our 400 acres, but please remember this is a working farm with moving machinery and animals, children must always be supervised.
Private free fishing is available on the River Severn, please bring your own rods, a selection of golf clubs are within a 20 minute drive.
|Lane Farm is a perfect base to explore The Marches, Shropshire Hills, Mid-Wales, Shrewsbury, Chester, Oswestry and Welshpool. We are 54 miles from Barmouth (a traditional sea side town) and 70 miles to Snowdon. With wonderful scenic roads to the lakes, wild open spaces and breathtaking mountains.|
The local area offers some wonderful trips, Powis Castle at Welshpool being 9 miles, Shrewsbury being a medieval town with castle, gardens, excellent shopping and river walks just 14 miles. Llangollen a historic town, with its famous canal and aqueduct. Pistyll Rhaedar situated in the Berwyn Mountains boasts a stupendous waterfall, higher than Niagara and is just 35 minutes drive.
For those feeling energetic a walk to the top of The Breiddens to Rodneys Pillar will afford spectacular view of the Severn valley (on a clear day!) We are within easy reach of The Severn Way and Offa's dyke.
Situated on B4393 between Crew Green and Llandrinio.
From Shrewsbury take A458 to Welshpool and Mid Wales, after Ford take the B4393, pass through Alberbury, Coedway and Crew Green, ignore the sign for Criggion on the left and continue, we are the next farm on the left hand side.
