![]() | Restaurant: Our kitchen team produces tempting dishes based on local, national and international cuisine, the emphasis being the use of locally produced fresh food. All special diets can be catered for, but advance notice is appreciated to allow for the purchase of specific requirements. Our restaurant serves hearty English breakfasts from 7.45am to 9.30am except for Sundays, 8am to 10am.Dinner is served from 6pm, with the menu changing on a daily basis, always including a variety of dishes including fish, poultry & vegetarian options. Sunday Lunches are served every Sunday, except during December, at a cost of £12.50 per person. Booking is essential. |
| Celebrations : Each celebration is individual and we treat them as such. Your special day, whether it is for a birthday, christening, club dinner or other celebration is tailor made to suit you. We do not offer a "fixed package", but are happy to discuss your personal requirements and tailor-make a package to suit, including food, drinks and entertainment. ![]() ![]() | Business Facilities: "The Meetings Place" - the conference and meeting facilities affords our business customers an up to the minute environment conveniently located within the ancient city walls of the North of England's premier historic city. The Meetings Place itself is a self-contained conference centre comprising of four modern meeting rooms designed with your needs in mind. Each of these rooms can be adapted in a variety of layouts to suit individual requirements. Flexibility is the key word. So much so that there is a breakout area with unlimited hot and cold refreshments so you do not have to worry about anytime constraints at crucial times during your meeting. |
| Leisure Facilities : Taking its name from the riverside Emperors Wharf and its Roman origins, it was here that the whole timber from the Northern Europe and Scottish forests was off-loaded then cut in the Sawmill before being sold as working wood to local builders, joiners and carpenters. The Old Sawmill has been completely restored to provide a fully equipped fitness facility within the hotel grounds. Emperors is available free of charge to all hotel guest who are either following a personal fitness programme or just fancy a tone up. Due to the popularity of the pool, booking may be required on your arrival at the hotel.

| Location : By Car.. York is easily accessible from the A64, A1, M1 & M62. Although there are many routes into York, we recommend the following: On reaching the York Outer Ring road - the A64 and the A1237, take the shortest route to the York West (A1036) junction. This is Tadcaster Road. Proceed STRAIGHT ON along this road, through several sets of traffic lights, past York Race-course which will be on your right, until you reach the city walls in front of you. This is Micklegate Bar. At these traffic lights, turn RIGHT, into Nunnery Lane. The city wall will then be to your left. Proceed along this road, bearing left into Price's Lane, and left again into Bishopgate Street. This is part of the Inner-Ring road. BEFORE the river bridge, just as the city wall ends, turn LEFT into Skeldergate, and immediately LEFT again into Cromwell Road. The vehicle entrance to the hotel is 100 metres on the right, at the brow of the hill. Parking is available in the top level, or the lower level of the car park. In the unlikely event you are unable to find a space or you require disabled parking space, please contact reception for further information. By Train The hotel is approximately half a mile from York Railway station. It is a pleasant walk to the hotel, or a short taxi ride if you prefer. Trains run frequently from all over the country to York. For further detail please call the rail enquiries number: 08457 48 49 50. By Air The nearest airport is Leeds/Bradford, approximately 25 miles away. Manchester International is approximately 50 miles away, and is serviced by a direct rail link to York. This runs approximately every hour during the day (less often during the night) and takes under two hours. Teeside, Hull and East Midlands airports are also accessible. By Sea Hull Docks is approximately one hour away, serviced by P&O Ferries, from Rotterdam & Zeebrugge. Transport to York is available by rail or National Express coach. |
