| Kind Words "I am writing to say how very much we enjoyed our visit to your hotel during the week commencing 3rd May this year. My wife, who has previously been a restaurateur, caterer, food journalist and Evening Standard "Gourmet of the Year", has a palate much more sophisticated than my own. I was certainly delighted with the meals we enjoyed at your hotel but when she assured me that they were indeed excellent, particularly the lobster, I could only congratulate myself on my good taste! For me, however, the main reason to thank and congratulate you is for the friendly, efficient and cheerful attitude of all the members of your staff team. They made our brief stay a happy one and should we return to Guernsey we would not consider staying at any other hotel." John Marshall, May 04 "I am just writing to than you all for making both myself and sister welcome at your Hotel. From the two Ladies on reception who were always helpful and the restaurant staff who worked very hard were always cheerful and polite. To the Head Waiter we apologise for not making his day by ordering a full breakfast. We can never face a lot of food first thing in the morning. Lastly we must congratulate the Chef for such wonderful food. You have a beautiful Hotel, very clean, friendly and excellently run. Thank you once again!" Audrey Fallows, April 04 |
| To explore Guernsey's 28.5 mile network of cliff paths fully would take many visits but first time cliff walkers can look forward to a range of fortifications from the Iron Age to the Second World War, secret coves and hidden fishermen's harbours as well as a breathtaking array of flowers and wildlife. The paths are served by over 200 benches and supported by many kiosks and refreshment stops. Whenever you take to the cliffs you are guaranteed a truly unforgettable experience: the blaze of wild flowers in the spring, the fragrant heat and glittering bays of summer, the mild sea breezes of autumn or the bracing, spectacular seascapes of winter. Moulin Huet, with its caves and blow hole, was immortalized by Renoir and the coast's unique light and views continue to inspire countless artists. "I felt the need to express our gratitude to the Management and Staff at La Barbarie Hotel for our perfect stay in Guernsey over Easter. Room 12 was very nice we particularly enjoyed the new bathroom. But better than that all the staff were helpful and happy and the food in the restaurant I feel is truly exceptional. (Although staying on a B&B basis, we had a party of 6 for dinner on Easter Monday.) I'm not sure how you are getting so much right but I look forward to our next visit in the summer! Thank you for all your expertise and professionalism" Terry and Christine Aimes. April 04 |
