Pitlochry Festival Theatre –

Knockendarroch House Hotel is the birthplace of the now famous Pitlochry Festival Theatre back in 1951. Until its relocation in 1981 the hotel was both the headquarters for the theatre and the home of Kenneth Ireland, the theatre’s director.

Knockendarroch are still pleased to boast a unique relationship with the theatre and can offer complimentary transport to the evening performances on a daily basis as well as arrangement of tickets for our guests.

A pre-theatre dinner package is available to our guests.

Walking, cycling, golf, fishing and adventure sports are all available around Pitlochry. Must see day-trips to the Fish Ladder, medieval village of Moulin, the nearby whisky distilleries or historic castles.

Shoppers are also well catered for in and around Pitlochry. Its main street has a variety of small independent shops selling unique local products and The House of Bruar, one of Scotland's most prestigious country stores is only a 10 minute drive from the Hotel.

Travel Information and Local Area:

Pitlochry is the perfect place to enjoy the beautiful Scottish scenery. Whether its outdoor activities or cultural enlightenment there is so much to see and do in Pitlochry and the surrounding areas.

Situated halfway between the large cities of Edinburgh and Glasgow to the south and Inverness and Aberdeen to the north, Pitlochry offers touring guests and independent travellers alike to experience life the Scottish way.

Pitlochry is easy to reach by rail and road and conveniently located from Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness and Perth.

Frequent rail services run between Glasgow and Edinburgh to Inverness via Pitlochry which is operated by First Scotrail. There is also one train a day which runs from Inverness to London Kings Cross calling at immediate cities on the East Coast of Britain which is operated by National Express East Coast.

By road, follow the A9 to Inverness for 26miles from Perth and take the Pitlochry exit. The hotel is signposted in the town centre which is accessed by following the road straight through.

There is also an Intercity coach service which runs from Edinburgh, Glasgow and Perth to Inverness via Pitlochry and is run by Scottish Citylink.

Room Rates and Additional Info:

Room Rates are between £60 – £90 per person per night depending on the time of year. The rate is based on Dinner, Bed and Breakfast and based on two people sharing.

Supplements are applicable for: Single Occupancy, Premier Rooms and exclusive use of the hotel (on request only).

Reduced rates are offered to stays of over 3 nights.

There is a cancellation policy and a deposit required when making a booking which will be given in more detail when making a reservation.
