The farmhouse was originally two farm cottages and has been tastefully converted into a delightful farmhouse with great character.

Cayton Bay

Killerby Cottage Farm is in an ideal situation to visit many holiday places and attractions. The beautiful secluded beach at Cayton Bay is only one and a half miles away. It is an untouched part of the coast and is protected by the National Parks. The Cleveland Way runs along the coast and there are some beautiful walks to enjoy.

The medieval castle dominates the headland dividing the two bays. The old fisherman's houses and narrow streets in the old town lead down to the busy harbour.

Scarborough is the home of the world famous playwright Sir Alan Ayckbourn and the Stephen Joseph Theatre in the Round. Theatre lovers come from far and wide to see his plays.

5 miles south of Cayton is the quieter resort of Filey. The fishing cobles still set out from the Coble landing into beautiful Filey Bay as they have done for centuries. Further down the coast are Bempton Cliffs and Flamborough Head, which are of special interest to birdwatchers.

Head north to Robin Hood's Bay and Whitby and soak up the atmosphere of smugglers, Dracula and Captain Cook, whose birthplace is just north of Whitby at Staithes.

The North Yorkshire Moors are on Whitby's doorstep and you can drive over this beautiful countryside, or hop aboard the North Yorkshire Moors Railway steam train at Goathland or Grosmont and enjoy a nostalgic journey to Pickering.

York is 40 miles away from Killerby. You will need more than a day to see all its attractions. The Minster, Clifford's Tower and Castle Museum, the Railway Museum, the Jorvic Centre and the narrow medieval streets and Houses.On your way back from York you may be tempted to visit Castle Howard, the magnificent stately home and venue for spectacular evening concerts and fireworks displays.
