| Location Hayfellside Barn is ideally situated in a quiet location, on the outskirts of the busy town of Kendal, between the beautiful rugged landscape of the Lake District and rolling fells of the Howgills. ![]() |
| Rooms Although the layout of Hayfellside Barn does not allow for en-suite facilities, there are two bathrooms to three bedrooms. ![]() ![]() ![]() All rooms include tea/coffee making facilities, television and hair dryer, iron and ironing board are also available on request. All rooms are fitted with blackout curtains to assist a good night's sleep. Twin, double and a family room are available. ![]() ![]() |
| Meals The importance to guests of a good breakfast is recognised. A full cooked English breakfast is included however vegetarian and other options are available. Guests with special dietry needs are requested to notify their requirements prior to arrival. ![]() A three-course dinner is available with vegetarian option followed by coffee. The premises hold no liquor licence however I would be happy to chill wine provided by guests. Packed lunches are also available on request. Guests are reminded that some meals may contain nuts. No guarantee can be given to guests who suffer from allergies. |
| Walkers & Cyclists Walkers and cyclists are welcome at Hayfellside Barn. A secure room is available to store cycles and I would be happy to dry outer clothing. The location is on the W2W cycle route and an ideal stopping off place for the leisure cyclist. |
| How to find us By car, Hayfellside Barn is just 5 mins from Jct 37 of the M6 motorway. Take the A684 to Kendal.Do not follow signs for New Hutton, but continue on the A684 to Kendal. On the left are signs for 15mph, immediately after this take a left turn signposted for Oxenholme station and you are on Hayclose lane.Hayfellside is the first turning on the left. ![]() The west coast main railway line is just 1 mile away with a plentiful taxi service available.A limited bus service is available from Hayfellside to Kendal main terminus where connections are available to all local market towns and the national network. |
![]() RIDING HOLIDAY PACKAGE Hayfellside Barn also offers a full board horse riding holiday package in association with BHS approved Holmescales Riding Centre including two full days tailor made itinerary for both the novice and experienced rider. Especially suitable for riders who need that extra confidence boost. The holiday commences with dinner on Sunday or Wednesday evenings, where you will meet your fellow riders. The following morning after a hearty breakfast you will be transported to Holmescales Equestrian centre to meet and get to know your horse. How your day progresses will be entirely up to what you have indicated and your fellow guests. For those who want more than a quiet trek out or faster hack further options are available as follows: Complete beginner, Novice and Confidence building Holmescales is an ideal safe professional environment for the first time horse rider and those who have lost their confidence for whatever reason. Preparation for Stages Exams
Packed lunches will be provided and transport to and from the riding centre included. After your days riding return to Hayfellside Barn to a welcome hot bath/shower before dinner and time to relax and discuss your 'horsey' stories. After your second day at the Equestrian you will be transported back to Hayfellside Barn for afternoon tea before departing. Guests aged under 16 must be accompanied by someone over 16 years of age. For the non rider - there are numerous outdoor activities available nearby. The location is also especially convenient for those who enjoy walking and cycling. Insurance Safety is a priority for the Riding Centre. The horses are well schooled and are allocated according to the rider's ability.The centre holds public liability insurance however, accidents can happen and you are advised to ensure adequate personal insurance. |
