| Hartforth Hall is steeped in history, from the circa 15th century arch on the tree lined drive - believed to be the ruins of a gatehouse of a medieval monastery to the impressive Georgian interiors and Victorian entrance facade. Historical features of the Hall include adamesque plasterwork, imposing fireplaces, a cantilevered staircase, a water tower which commemorates the participation of former occupants in four wars and a former Orangery with Tuscan colonnaded terrace approached by an elaborate staircase with an ornate fountain. |

We pride ourselves on a high standard of home cooked cuisine which is complemented by a selection of fine wines. This fabulous hall is set in seven acres of grounds with splendid trees and natural gardens. It is ideally located with easy access to the joys of Yorkshire, Northumberland and County Durham. | We are always delighted to organise and cater for Conferences, Private Dinners / Celebrations, Christmas and New Year Parties and Wedding Receptions. We hope that you will see the splendours of Hartforth Hall for yourself during your stay. Have a relaxing walk around the beautiful countryside surrounding the Hall or go sightseeing. For the more energetic, clay pigeon shooting, hunting, fishing, horse riding, trekking and golf can be arranged in advance. The joys of the Yorkshire Dales are on the doorstep. Richmond, with its Norman Castle, Georgian Theatre Royal and three museums, the falls of the River Swale and James Herriot country are only a few miles away. Historic Barnard Castle and Bowes Museum with its famous sailing silver swan and Lightwater Valley Theme Park are only a short car drive away. Follow in the footsteps of the author Charles Dickens or the landscape artist JMW Turner or visit Sir Walter Scotts Rokeby or Lewis Carrolls Croft. | Tennyson Room We offer a superior twin bedroom located on the ground floor which has the disabled in mind and has ensuite shower. All of the ground floor is wheelchair accessible. For your enjoyment and pleasure Practise your Putting or while away some time with Boules or Croquet. Reception will be delighted to advise on our local cinema, theatre or golf and riding facilities. Paint balling, go karting, clay pigeon shooting and 4 wheel driving may be arranged with prior notice. Babies and Children Welcome Hartforth Hall welcomes all well behaved children. Games and outdoor activities are available. We will gladly provide you with your own personal portable intercom system subject to availability. Babysitting facilities are usually available on request. Children are the responsibility of the parents and the childs saftely must lie with the parent(s) or guardian(s) at all times. Groups Welcome Pets Welcome All well behaved pets are welcome for which we make the nominal charge of £9.00 per animal per day. For dogs we provide a basket (on request) and bedding in your room. Unfortunately as meals are served throughout the day in our public rooms, pets are not allowed in public areas. This is to comply with current hygiene regulations. Arriving Late We would be grateful if you could advise us if your arrival is likely to be after 6pm. Arrivals later than 8.00pm may wish to take advantage of our special supper tray service which should be pre-ordered when booking. We will be pleased to advise on charges and options. Children 0-11 years old £10 per night bed and breakfast. 12-13 years old £15 per night bed and breakfast. The above rates apply when sharing with 2 adults. These rates apply irrespective of the room tariff standard of occupying adults. Childrens Meals For older children dinner is charged at half the full rate when taken in either of the dining areas. Dinner When booking for the 3 night holiday we have a reduced price for dinner for our guests in the informal Arches Restaurant. For a main course and coffee we only charge 12.50, if you are taking dinner for the 3 nights and if you book at the same time as you make your reservation. Several options, e.g. starters, deserts, etc. are available. The more formal Black and Gold Wedgwood rooms are sometimes available, if required. We also have a child's menu. For a group booking private dining arrangements are available. Reservations, Deposits and Cancellations All reservations remain provisional until confirmed. A confirmed reservation, verbal or written, constitutes a binding contract. A non returnable deposit of £50 per person is required to secure your room. A charge of £20 per reservation is made for any amendment to a confirmed reservation. The following charges will be made for cancellations: 100% within 7 days of arrival 50% at any other time.
