| Gothic House is an elegant Regency townhouse set in a quiet leafy courtyard situated in the heart of the historic part of Norwich. It is a Grade II-listed building and was built in 1820 (reputedly by a wealthy merchant for his mistress!) The house has been extensively refurbished and redecorated in a highly individual style, yet sympathetic to its Regency origins. Antique furniture and an eclectic array of decorative items creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. |
| We have two spacious, stylishly luxurious guest rooms, each distinguished by its own particular decor. On the first floor is the double room (and was presumably the bedroom of the mistress). This room has a king-sized bed. | ![]() |

However, there are two bathrooms, one dedicated to each guest room (so there is no need to share). Both bathrooms are on the first floor and across the hall from the double room. Adjacent to the twin-bedded room on the second floor is a toilet. Each bathroom is provided with Molton Brown toiletries and each bedroom is provided with luxurious bathrobes, slippers and tea/coffee-making facilities. |
| Breakfast is served in the elegant dining room usually between 8 am and 9.30 am. In keeping with the gentler pace of life found in Gothic House this can be served later if you wish. However, if you have a need for an earlier breakfast this can also be accommodated. The traditional English breakfast is served, using locally sourced products where possible. Other breakfast dishes are also served. Gothic House is a completely non-smoking environment to ensure your comfort. | ![]() |
| Gothic House is situated in a gated courtyard and there are two car parking spaces available. We are also a short taxi journey from both Norwich rail station and the bus/coach station. Being located close to the heart of the city there are a large number of restaurants nearby for evening meals and an award-winning real ale pub is just a short walk away. Within a short distance of the house one can almost step back into another age with streets of Georgian architecture as well as buildings dating from much earlier times. Also, the cathedral and famous Elm Hill, with its array of antiques shops and galleries, are barely more than five minutes walking distance away. |
| Standard Rate Bed and Breakfast per room for two people £90 per night. Single person occupancy of either room is £55. |
