Welcome
If you are seeking spectacular views and a place to stay which can offer warmth, comfort, quality and character, you can be assured of a friendly welcome when you stay at the Glyn-y-Coed.
Situated in the best position in Criccieth and facing due south, the Glyn-y-Coed overlooks the Esplanade and offers splendid views of Criccieth Castle, the Berwyn Mountains and beautiful Cardigan Bay.
Criccieth is washed by the gulf stream so we enjoy a temperate climate. Very often, during the summer, we see dolphins & porpoises.
Having been awarded with 5-stars, we believe the Glyn Y Coed to be one of the finest places to stay in Criccieth.
Some of our bedrooms, our lounge, breakfast room and our patio garden overlook the sea.
We provide a very healthy and tasty breakfast with plenty of choice. The meat used is from a local, award-winning butcher.
Private parking for every room.
Free WiFi.
We are just a couple of minutes walk from the beach, shops, cafes and restaurants. Ten minutes walk away we have Criccieth Castle and Cadwalladers famous ice-cream shop - a must for the ice-creams and the wonderful views from the cafe.
Less than ten minutes walk, we have eight excellent restaurants to choose from. All come highly recommended and provide freshly prepared food.
We are just a few minutes walk from the train and bus stops.
Criccieth is very central for seeing places such as Portmeirion, Harlech, Snowdon, Caernarfon Castle and many hidden, most beautiful and romantic beaches around the Llyn Peninsula. |

Attractions
North Wales offers an unrivalled choice of scenery and activity to the discerning visitor and particularly attracts the walkers, climbers and cyclists. Criccieth is also popular for golfers, being central to courses in Porthmadog, Abersoch, Harlech, Nefyn, Pwllheli and Criccieth.
We are approximately 7 miles from Portmeirion Village and close to many attractions such as the Festiniog Railway, Snowdonia National Park, slate mines, copper mines, museums and not forgetting the various beautiful beaches and coastlines. Criccieth is as beautiful in the winter as it is in the summer.
The close by Snowdonia National Park covers 823 square miles of the most beautiful and unspoilt countryside in north west Wales. Unlike "wild" National Parks elsewhere in the world, Snowdonia is home to just over 26,000 people, who live and work in its towns and villages, and on its hill farms.
Criccieth castle is one of the many things that makes criccieth a unique town, be sure to take a trip up the short path to the top of the castle to see the old ruins and for the amazing views of criccieth. |
