Come away to a Glorious Hotel tucked away in the Brecon Beacons, South Wales. The chances are you have landed on this site as you are looking for a small hotel in a stunning location, which offers good food and service without a lot of pretension and exorbitant prices, well don't go away just yet, you may have found what you are looking for. I have no doubt that you have a busy and hectic life and every now and again you relish the thought of a lie in, or a long walk over the hills or perhaps a day's fly fishing for brown trout. You may wish for nothing more than a lazy lunch in the sun with a bottle of wine. Then round off the day with a great dinner and early bed, heaven. We understand this, which is why we make it our mission to ensure that you leave here feeling a whole lot better than when you checked in. You will find out why scores of our guests come back for more every year.

Gliffaes has 22 bedrooms, all are individually decorated and furnished and all have private bathrooms, a number of which are twin bedded. All rooms have private bathrooms. The rooms are priced according to size and view, the best rooms all have spectacular views across the Usk valley, while the others all look over our magnificent grounds.

Being in the middle of a National Park and surrounded by farmland that is not intensively farmed means we have access to some especially good meat, lamb and beef in particular. Moving into summer we should be having the best of early new season Welsh lamb and British soft fruit and vegetables. The Hotel has been awarded an AA Rosette for its cooking for the 7th year in a row. "Our approach towards food at Gliffaes is a simple one; good food, well presented using the best of local produce and the freshest of ingredients." Stephan Trinci - Head Chef. As a member of the 'Slow Food Movement', a global organization dedicated to regional food and local producers, Gliffaes attempts to source 75% of its fresh produce from within 50 miles of the hotel. The dinner menu is changed weekly, although there is usually some change every day and we offer a choice of 5 starters, mains and puddings and there will always be a vegetarian offer. With some warning most diets can be catered for. Use the links on the left to find out more about dinner, lunch and tea and our wines. It goes without saying that we are always open to non-residents, although we do ask if you could telephone and book for dinner. 01874 730 371.
Location . . . Gliffaes is located in South Wales in the middle of the Brecon Beacon's National Park, between the two market towns of Abergavenny and Brecon in the valley of the River Usk. By Road Gliffaes is 3 hours drive from West London or about two and half from Heathrow straight down the M4. If you are coming from the Midlands or the North we are about 45 minutes off the M5. If you are visiting other parts of Great Britain such as Bath, the Cotswolds or the Malvern Hills we are within 2 hours of all them and would make an interesting diversion off the well worn tourist path. For those on the way to or from Ireland via the ferry we are two and half hours from Fishguard. We are also well served by the two regional airports at Bristol and Cardiff. By Train Gliffaes is an 8 mile taxi ride from Abergavenny station. Abergavenny is just off the main London to Cardiff line. Trains leave from London Paddington almost on the hour every hour. You should change at Newport, South Wales for the short trip to Abergavenny. The whole journey should take no more than two and a half hours. Abergavenny is also on the line between Manchester Piccadilly and Cardiff.
