The original owner oversaw the design and construction of the house and incorporated a wealth of beautifully carved ceilings and walnut panelling, the cosy library and dining room, both oak panelled with carved dressers and decorative ceilings.

In 1985 Glencot was purchased to be a hotel. Since then it has been gradually restored to its former glory and now provides high class accommodation with all amenities of modern day living, yet still retains its family home atmosphere as it is privately owned and managed.

We cater for a maximum of 50 guests in our lovely pine panelled conference room where board meetings, seminars, training courses, and private dinner parties are frequently held. Details of prices and menus can be supplied on request.

The location of Glencot House and its close proximity to the major towns and cities in Avon and Somerset makes it an ideal base for the businessman or the tourist alike. Children and well behaved dogs are also welcome.

It offers peace and tranquillity where guests may relax and unwind. They may walk in the gardens catch trout in the river, play snooker or table tennis, enjoy a sauna, or take a dip in the small indoor jet stream pool. In the evening they can relax by a log fire in the drawing room or the library, and sample the delicious food in the restaurant, freshly cooked to order by the chef.

Nearby are many places of beauty and interest. There are three local golf courses; the famous Wookey Hole Caves; the beautiful Cathedral City of Wells; the spectacular Cheddar Gorge; Glastonbury, a town of myths & legends; the lovely houses and gardens of Longleat, Stourhead and Montacute; the Motor Museum at Sparkford and the Fleet Air Arm Museum in Yeovil.

Glencot is not difficult to find. From Wells follow the signs for Wookey Hole and on entering the village look for the pink cottage on the brow of the hill on the left hand side. After it there is a sign saying "Glencot House." Turn sharp left at the sign and you will then find us in Glencot Lane.

From London it is better to follow the M4 to junction 18 and the A46 to Bath. Follow the signs to Wells and then to Wookey Hole.

From the M5 you can exit at junction 21, 22 or 23 and from each there will be signs to Wells and Wookey Hole.

Have a safe journey and we look forward to meeting you.
