| A comfortable, family-run Victorian house in a quiet location with ample, unrestricted on-street parking. We are situated in the Heart of the Lake District, surrounded by beautiful countryside, breathtaking scenery, mountains & Lakes. Our mouth-watering, traditional English breakfast will set you up for the day. Continental or vegetarian alternatives are available. Our cosy rooms [All en-suite] have TV's, Tea & coffee-making facilities, central heating, constant hot water, power showers, hairdryers & clocks. Everything to make it a real "home from home" ![]() Keswick Town Centre looking towards the Moot Hall We are an easy 4 minute stroll to Town Centre, where there is an abundance of Pubs, [who all do pub grub] & Eating Houses and Restaurants, [for those special occasions]. There is an excellent selection of shops, especially for Outdoor Clothing & Equipment and all the usual gift & food shops including Woolworths, Boots etc. We are equally close to Open Countryside and less than 10 mins from the Lake, where you can hire a rowing or motor boat, take a Launch trip round the lake or just walk and enjoy the tranquil atmosphere of the pure country air. The Theatre is situated by the lake and has a good selection of plays, to suit all tastes. The cinema, leisure pool, parks [tennis, bowling, children's' play area] and launderette are all very close to the house. Our Rooms Our cosy, En-suite rooms are tastefully refurbished and have Mira "Power" showers, loo and vanity basin. Tea & coffee-making facilities, TV's hairdryers, shaver-point, clock and central heating. All rooms have views of the surrounding mountains and countryside. Our Standard Single room has everything the En-suite rooms have, with the exception of the Shower & loo. However, we do have a separate en-suite Shower room, with a loo and a separate loo, for the use of guests, who book the standard single room.
The view from the Front Rooms of the house looks across to Walla Crag (on the skyline, to your left) and the "mound" of trees, behind the houses, is Castlehead. ![]() Castlehead is supposed to be an extinct "Volcanic Plug". It boasts fantastic panoramic views, from its summit, across Derwentwater Lake and down Borrowdale Valley. You can see past Portinscale to Bassenthwaite Lake. The Best bit is that you can be at the top within 1/2 hour, perfect for an "Evening Walk".
