| Welcome to the Forest Side Hotel in the Lake District At the Forest Side Hotel we offer our guests a non smoking environment with beautiful, stylish but affordable bed and breakfast accommodation in Grasmere, heart of the Lake District National Park. Our range of comfortable bedrooms and self catering apartments suit all tastes, and are ideal for couples, families, weddings, conferences, committed walkers and groups. The building has many original features such as high ceilings, intricate coving, large bay windows, wood panelling and open fireplaces. The hotel is designed to be your personal country retreat - with the discreet familial feel and cosiness that makes Forest Side so special. In cooler weather you will be welcomed with the glow of the roaring log fire and reflection from the candlelight, and lounges where you can relax and unwind at the end of the day. Free WIFI in the hotel lounges ensure that regular connection with your Facebook and Internet connections are maintained. We are proud to say that we are the most affordable stately home in the area. The Forest Side Hotel stands in 42 acres of landscaped and wooded private grounds nestled on the fell side beneath Alcock Tarn. |

| Your room at the Forest Side Hotel We provide accommodation for every need and affordability, from romantic hand carved four poster kingsized luxury, and double rooms with breathtaking views, -to "no frills" Rambler's Rest with a back to basic resting place. All our rooms are warm, clean and equipped with Freeview TV, tea, coffee and sugar sachets supplied by 'Fairtrade', and a range of complimentary toiletries that are eco friendly, including body lotion, shampoo and bath and shower gel. All rooms in the main hotel are en-suite and all rooms in the main hotel, annex and Lodge have luxurious duvet covers, hand towels, bath mats and extra large white fluffy bath sheets. The Forest Side Hotel can accommodate up to 58 guests in a variety of rooms and self catering apartments. We also have a flexible approach to catering, from a formally seated meal to hot and cold buffets. |

| Birthday Celebrations/Weddings The Forest Side is the ideal venue for your special occasion. The hotel can be hired exclusively for those wishing to have a private function. Details and prices can be provided upon request. You may wish to use the expertise of our staff in helping you arrange your special occasion, and can provide complete flexibility for all your requirements. We have two spacious lounges with breathtaking views which are ideal spaces for your guests to relax in. We can also provide your guests with drinks from our well stocked bar. We can seat up to 50 guests for a three course dinner; 80 for hot and cold buffets, and for larger groups, marquees can be accommodated in our extensive gardens. |

We can offer flexible seating and table arrangements and organise presentation equipment, including display screens and overhead projectors. | Grasmere Lodge - Self Catering Want to really get away from everything - and everyone? Prefer your own cooking, privacy and your own living room? Why not hire our self-catering apartments located within Grasmere Lodge, a listed building, and former coaching lodge built in 1853, tucked away down the drive from the main house with convenient parking and private access to, Alcock Tarn, and a beautiful walk to "Coffin Way" and Wordsworth's Dove cottage. Also within Grasmere Lodge are a choice of twin/double standard en suite rooms and Rambler's Rest or basic rooms. All facilities of the hotel are available to guests of Grasmere Lodge including the firelit lounges, breakfast (chargeable) and fully stocked bar. The apartments provide all the comforts of home including flexible accommodation with open plan living/kitchen/dining area with a separate double/twin bedroom and bathroom/shower-room. A choice of either double or twin bedded apartments are available and a third adult or up to two young children may be accommodated upon request. Heating via the storage radiators is free of charge, supplementary electricity (for heating, cooking, ironing, and use of the kettle), is chargeable via electricity £1 slot meter (located at high level in the hall). Local shopping facilities including a mini-market, newsagent, and pharmacy available in Grasmere Village, which is a short 10min walk. Additional rooms (standard and basic rooms) are available to supplement your self catering accommodation in a separate wing of Grasmere Lodge (chargeable). These include a choice of standard en-suite twin or double rooms, and single Ramblers Rest basic rooms. These rooms can be hired on a supplementary basis (reduced cost) for guests hiring apartments. |

| Directions from the South Take the M6 to junction 36. Follow the A591/A65 in the direction of Kendal. Bypass Kendal by staying on the A591. Drive through Windermere, Ambleside and Rydal. As you approach Grasmere go straight across the roundabout, do not turn left into Grasmere village. We are about 3/4 mile along the A591 on the right, just as the speed limit changes to 30 miles per hour. Directions from the North Take the M6 to junction 40. Take the A 66 in the direction of Keswick (North Lakes).At Threlkeld turn left (just past the White Horse pub) and take the B5322 (this is signposted for Windermere and St Johns in the Vale). This will cut off the approach to Keswick and leads onto the A591. Follow the A591 towards Windermere and Grasmere. Pass the Swan Hotel on the left. The entrance to our drive is immediately after Our Lady of the Wayside church on the left. Directions by Train The nearest train station is located at Windermere (approximately 8 miles from the hotel). There is a regular bus service from the train station to Grasmere (alight at the Swan Hotel). Taxis wait outside the station and will cost around £20. |
