Ferndale House

Offers a homely and peaceful atmosphere with no restrictions on access to rooms or garden.

It has been modernised to include en-suite facilities, a lounge with wood burning stove.

The ground floor en-suite double room is ideal for older or patially disabled visitors.

Traditional home cooked evening meals available on request. We use locally sourced ingredients when possible and free range eggs.

Ferndale House is user friendly

Double gates allows access to the car park and garden. From the car park a one step-down path leads to the front porch.

From the porch proceed to the entrance lobby, were access can be gained to the ground floor bedroom and the stairs to the first floor bedrooms.

A nine-step staircase leads to a landing and corridor feeding the bedrooms. The first floor bedrooms have a one step down to the en-suite facilities

.The dining room is fed from the lower corridor and is one step down.

Guests are most welcome to make use of the peaceful walled garden with the sound of water running by. Children and pets are also welcome, but they must be under supervision at all times.

Off road parking and safe storage of bikes is provided. There is also an outside toilet and hand basin.

We ask guests not to smoke anywhere inside the guesthouse.

Accommodation at Ferndale house offers comfortable thoughtfully equipped rooms with en-suite facilities. The two family type rooms,situated on the first floor, consist of a double and single bed with sufficient room for a put-you-up.The double room is situated on the ground floor and is suitable for older or partially disabled persons.

Each room has a hospitality tray and fresh milk is available on request. All rooms have digital TV, clock-radio, hair dryer and toiletries.

Your heating is provided by radiators, thermostatically controlled to your requirements.

On the ground floor we have a lounge with SKY television.

evening meals are available on request

DIRECTIONS

From London

Take M4 to Swindon and come off at juction 15. Take A419 signed Cirencester and then A417 towards Gloucester. Remain on Glouceter by-pass by following signs A40 Ross on Wye.

From Gloucester

Take A40 Ross on Wye and continue 2nd set of traffic lights at Huntley, turn left on the A4136 Monmouth & Forest of Dean. Continue approximately 9 miles, go through Brierley and then turn right B4234 Upper Lydbrook. We are the third property on the right side. Approximately 400 yards after entering the 30 mph limit.

From the North

Journey south on the M% to junction 8 and take the M50 to junction 3. Take the B4221 towards Newent. After approximately 1.5 miles, in the village of Kilcot, turn right onto the B4222 signed Mitcheldean. Go through Mitcheldean to small roundabout, turn right on A4136, after approximately 4 miles go through Brierley and then turn right B4234 Upper Lydbrook. We are the third property on the right side. Approximately 400 yards after entering the 30 mph limit.

Scenic route from south west (avoiding Gloucester)

Up the M5 to junction 15 (sign M4 west and easily missed). Continue as it becomes M48 signed Chepstow, over the old Severn Bridge. There is a toll in this direction, currently £5.50 for cars. Exit immediately at junction 2 to Chepstow. At first roundabout take A466 and head up the Wye Valley towards Monmouth. After Penault turn right A4136 Staunton, continue for approximately 8 miles. Turn left onto B4234 Upper Lydbrook. We are the third property on the right side. Approximately 400 yards after entering the 30 mph limit.
