| For luxury accommodation in Robin Hood country stay with Irene and John Auld at The Cottage B & B in Farnsfield. ![]() ![]() The Cottage is three hundred years old built of distinctive local red brick under a pantiled roof, heavily beamed with original fire-places and lovely gardens. Beautifully restored accommodation overlooks ancient meadows, a stud farm and the village church. The accommodation comprises two double rooms, one en-suite and one with a large separate bathroom, and a single room that can be let with one of the doubles. ![]() ![]() Locally produced sausages, bacon and other produce are served for breakfast and organic ingredients are used wherever possible. Farnsfield is a conservation village dating from the Domesday Book, near Sherwood Forest and the small market town of Southwell, with its beautiful Minister. Also within easy reach are Nottingham and Newark which is famed for its antiques. ![]() ![]() The village is well served by local shops and pubs and restaurants serving good food catering for all tastes. There are two double bedrooms, one with an en-suite shower room and one with a separate bathroom with large claw foot bath. ![]() ![]() There is also a single bedroom available with one double for parties of 2 or 3 sharing the bathroom. All accommodation is non-smoking. As we have two dearly loved cats we are not able to accept rival pets. Prices are from £25 per person per night to include full English breakfast. Rambling and hiking including the Robin Hood Way. Directions The Cottage is 12 miles North of Nottingham, 1 mile East of White Post roundabout on A614. Entering Farnsfield turn right just before Red Lion Pub, crossing pebbled drive and through entrance in brick wall. The cottage lies off Mansfield Road and at right angles to the road. |
