We like to offer our guests cuisine that sustains health, and satisfies indulgence. Dinner consists of four courses, with three choices at each stage. The menus reflect the abundance of fresh local produce from the Estate, specialising in shellfish and game. Langoustines arrive at the old stone pier, and oysters from the hotel's own oyster beds. Special menus can be arranged in advance.

The wine list is personally chosen by Sir Iain and Lady Noble, with changing themes. It has received Les Routiers Corps d'Elite Wine Awards.

Our second dining room can be used for intimate dinners and celebrations. Larger events, such as weddings, birthdays, concerts, ceilidhs, dances and informal conferences, can be catered for in two nearby halls: the Talla Dearg Gallery, and Talla Dhuisdeil.

The Locality

The hotel forms part of Fearann Eilean Iarmain, a traditional Estate covering 23,000 acres belonging to Sir Iain Noble. It lies in the parishes of Sleat and Strath, an area of great natural beauty with hills and moorland, woodland and seashore. This habitat sustains abundant bird life and a wide variety of plant species and wild flowers. The area is known as "Lios an Eilein" ("the Garden of Skye") and is famous for its geology.

Beside the hotel, on the little harbour, is the headquarters of "The Gaelic Whiskies", the only whisky company with its headquarters in the Hebrides. There you can taste their connoisseur brands and buy a bottle at your leisure.

This is Gaelic country. Eilean Iarmain has been known as "The Gaelic centre of the World".The language is widely spoken and staging an upsurge. The Gaelic College of Sabhal Mor Ostaig is 7 miles away, where degree courses are taught through the medium of Gaelic at the adjoining campuses which were founded by Sir Iain Noble.

Just beyond is the Clan Donald Centre at Armadale Castle, with a visitor centtr, and a fine arboretum and garden. In the north of the island is Dunbheagan Castle, and Portrigh, the capital of Skye.
