East Lochhead Country House & Cottages East Lochhead is a large one hundred year old Scottish Farmhouse commanding beautiful views to the south east over the Barr Loch and Renfrewshire hills. Situated one mile west of Lochwinnoch on the road to Largs it is close to both Glasgow and Prestwick Airport and an ideal base for visiting Glasgow touring and golfing in Ayrshire, the Clyde coast, the Trossachs (Rob Roy country) and Loch Lomond. The self-catering cottages have been sympathetically converted from barns, forminga courtyard to the rear of the main house, and are furnished and decorated to a very highstandard, with every modern convenience. The property is set within 25 acres of farmlandgrazed by sheep and cattle, guests are welcome to wander and enjoy the beautiful 2 acregardens. |
| Self Catering Cottages There are two cottages on the southern side of the courtyard. Reservations are normally from Saturday to Saturday, but short breaks are available other than in July and August. Prices on request. Our terms and conditions include payment of a booking fee, arrival and departure times, gas and electricity charges, and leaving the cottage as clean and tidy as you found it. 1. The Old Byre (sleeps 6) The Old Byre has south facing views over the Barr Loch. The upstairs accommodation includes a double and twin bedroom, shower room with toilet, bidet and wash basin. Downstairs there is a twin bedroom and bathroom, an open plan kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, fridge, gas hob, electric oven and washing machine. There is also a dining and sitting area with a conservatory, which has French windows opening into the garden. 2. Loch View (sleeps 2/4) Loch View shares an entrance porch from the courtyard with the Old Byre and being south facing also enjoys views over the Barr Loch. The upstairs bedroom has a double and single bed and adjoins a large bathroom. The downstairs area is open plan with a fully sprung double bed settee and has French doors opening into the garden. There is a fitted kitchen which includes a washing machine, fridge, microwave, gas cooker with electric oven. Both cottages have a TV and gas central heating. |

| Bed and Breakfast East Lochhead offers a warm welcome, a relaxing enviroment the opportunity of a peaceful nights sleep and good wholesome food.Bed and Breakfast accommodation includes three spacious tastefully furnished and decorated bedrooms. On the ground floor overlooking the garden is a double/ Family room with en suite bathroom. Upstairs also overlooking the gardens with views to the Barr Loch is twin bedroom with en suite bathroom and a double bedroom overlooking the courtyard with en suite shower facilities. Janet Anderson is an enthusiastic and qualified cook and prepares delicious home made meals for B and B guests and those self catering, if they wish. Breakfasts are her speciality. East Lochhead caters for vegetarian and vegan meals. The premises are now licensed. |

| Road: From Glasgow, the Airport and the East - Follow the west bound signed Greenock.At junction 28a immediately after the Glasgow Airport exit) follow the A737 signed Irvine. The road divides at Kilbarchan but stay in the right hand lane. At the Road Head roundabout turnright on the A760 signed Largs and Lochwinnoch. We are exactly two miles from here. Gounder two bridges. There is a bungalow on the left, go slowly at this point as East Lochheadis the next house on the left behind tall trees. From the North West of Scotland via the Erskine Bridge - Follow the M8 signed Glasgow to junction29 following the signs to Glasgow Airport and Irvine A737 and continue as above. Train: There is an hourly service from Glasgow and the Ayrshire coast to Lochwinnochstation. Walk up the hill to the Hungry Monk and telephone Janet Anderson for collection. Alternatively, trains run every twenty minutes from Glasgow to Johnstone and the journeymay be completed by taxi. |  |
