A Perfect Place to Stay...
All our ensuite bedrooms have been created with your comfort in mind, furnished to the highest standards, we have tried to think of everything you might need - complimentary toiletries, television, radio, telephone, hair dryer, as well as tea and coffee making facilities. Most of our bedrooms have sea views, some of our rooms even have four poster beds and if you would like a larger room we have mini suites available. |
The Restaurant on the Beach... Well, not quite. But you would find it hard to get nearer. Savour the views while you savour the food. In the evening relax with a pre-dinner drink in our comfortable bar, open 11am - 10.30pm for residents, or outside on the terrace overlooking Filey Bay. Choose from the imaginative menus and wine list. Your lovingly prepared food will be served to you in our restaurant of Elegance, by pleasant and friendly staff.  The wine list of over 30 wines has been carefully selected to provide the perfect compliment to your meal. Our breakfasts will set you up for the day. Select from an extensive cold buffet and follow on from our range of hot tradtional English breakfast items. From freshly prepared snacks available throughout the day to our extensive dinner menu, served from 6.00pm to 8.00pm, all our food is prepared by experts to the highest standards. Why not try our traditional Sunday Lunch served from 12.00 noon?  Our wine list of over 30 wines from around the world has been personally selected, and tested, by us! |
| Lovely in Summer, Stunning in Winter... Imagine the calmest of seas on a warm summers evening with boats bobbing in the bay as you sit on the terrace enjoying a pre dinner drink.  Filey is not the place to come if you want night clubs and noise. It is one of the few unspoilt resorts on the North Yorkshire Coast. People come here for relaxation. Walking, sailing, birdwatching and golf are all favourite pastimes as well as just relaxing with a stroll along the beach. Whatever the occasion the Downcliffe House offers superb hospitality as well as an unrivalled sea front position. |

Filey is an ideal base for touring, situated between the larger resorts of Scarborough and Bridlington, both with their amusements, cinemas and theatres, including the Stephen Joseph Theatre where there are regular plays and comedies shown.  York, Whitby, Robin Hood's Bay, Castle Howard, Pickering and the North Yorkshire Moors with its steam railways are all within one hours journey. |

| All our rooms are ensuite and have colour televisions, direct dial telephones and refreshment trays. All prices are fully inclusive of VAT at 17.5%. Our aim is to provide luxury accommodation with good food in a luxury setting. Single supplement when available £20 per night on top of the normal tariff. |
| Terms and Conditions Prices are per person per night unless stated otherwise and are based upon two people sharing a room and are inclusive of VAT Children under eleven sharing with two full paying adults will be charged half the adult rate. Children under two will be charged £5 per day plus any food ordered. A non-refundable deposit of £30 per person will be asked for at time of booking. If no deposit is received within 5 days the booking will be cancelled. A credit card / switch card payment for a deposit will be required for any booking made within 7 days of arrival. Small dogs are allowed by prior arrangement at £5 per day. They must not be allowed to go on furniture etc and must have their own bed. Any damage or cleaning required, due to dog, will be charged for. They are not permitted in the public areas / restaurant. Cancellation less than two weeks before the date of arrival or during the period booked will be charged at the full cost. All tariffs subject to change, within one week of arrival All our bedrooms, upper floors and our restaurant are non smoking areas. We reserve the right to alter rooms allocated if necessary If it becomes necessary to cancel your booking we shall do our best to arrange accommodation or we will provide a full refund The break prices are inclusive of meals and will remain the same price whether meals are taken or not No refunds/reductions will be given for meals booked and not taken We strongly advise you to take out holiday cancellation insurance to cover you against cancellation |
| We're easy to find... By Rail Filey has its own railway station, which is about a half mile from the hotel. Trains run directly to Filey from Hull and there is a connecting service for those travelling from York. By Car Filey lies 7 miles south of Scarborough and 10 miles north of Bridlington. Leave the A165 taking the A1039 which bring you into the centre of Filey. Drive through the centre (ignoring the signs to the Beach which take you on a mystery tour!) down Cargate Hill and turn right. The Hotel is about 200 yards along the sea front. |
