Distillery House is set in the extensive grounds of the former Glenlochy Distillery with its fine distinctive distillery buildings forming a backdrop to one of the most attractive areas in Fort William. The house is situated on the banks of the River Nevis and at the entrance to Glen Nevis but still only five minutes walk from the town centre; the railway and the bus station.

Distillery House has been converted from three semi-detached houses originally used to house distillery staff. Particular care has been taken in choosing the fabric furnishings and decor to form a tasteful development of seven very well equipped guest rooms all with en-suite facilities, television, central heating, Tea/coffee making facilities and individual hair dryers.

The Reading Lounge is furnished with chesterfield sofas to provide that feeling of understated luxury from which to enjoy the views down to the river and surrounding area.

The house is centrally heated through-out. To add to your peace of mind we hold a full fire certificate and a highly sophisticated fire detection system has been installed.

How to Find Us:

From the North follow the A82 towards Fort William and turn right after the second set of traffic lights and just before the Glen Nevis roundabout.

From the South follow the A82 through Fort William and head for Inverness, we are on the left just after the Glen Nevis roundabout which is the third roundabout coming through Fort William. Turn right before you reach the traffic lights.

Nestled deep in the heart of Highland Jacobite country at the foot of Ben Nevis, lies the old garrison town of Fort William, complete with all its Highland history.

Ben Nevis, 7K

In Fort William there are shops of all kinds, cinemas, library, squash courts, swimming pool, pony trekking and of course Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in Britain. Near Ben Nevis is Aonach Mhor where a modern gondola system whisks you in warm smooth comfort some two thousand feet up the mountainside for spectacular views. This is also the setting for great ski-ing in the winter.

The house lies at the end of the West Highland Way a long distance walk for the most experienced walker. For the less experienced there are other beautiful scenic walks. Mountain Bikes can also be hired or for the less energetic why not take a trip on the Seal Island Cruiser or a local historic bus tour.

Situated at sea-level, Fort William is an ideal centre for touring the Highlands & Islands - Skye, Loch Morar (Morag and Silver sands), Loch Ness (Nessie), Oban, Inverness, Mull and the Whisky trail are all a comfortable day trip.
