| Dean Farm is a welcoming 18th century red brick and hang tiled farmhouse, located in the village of Kilmeston on the edge of the Hampshire Downs, within the South Downs National Park. The house is beautifully furnished with an emphasis on warmth and comfort with mature gardens. Do come and stay with us to de-stress and re-charge your batteries. |
| Location The farm is close to the historic city of Winchester, ancient capital of Wessex (15 mins), the New Forest (40 mins), the maritime centres of Southampton (30 mins) and Portsmouth (40 mins). London is only 55 minutes by train. We are ideally placed as a resting place before or after ferries to and from the continent, or the Isle of Wight. The farm is mainly arable with a small flock of sheep. Alresford, a delightful market town, is 4 miles away, and has the popular Watercress Steam Railway, along with a good choice of eating-places. Hampshire has truly beautiful countryside, dotted with quintessentially English villages to explore and many places of interest and there are wonderful walks, in fact the Wayfarers Walk runs past the top of our garden, and the South Downs Way is one and a half miles from us. |
| Dining Breakfast is substantial and has to be seen to be believed! There is a mouth-watering selection of breads, cheeses, yoghurts, fresh & dried fruits, various teas & fresh coffee! There are excellent country pubs and restaurants within 2 miles and of course Alresford and Winchester offer a comprehensive restaurant choice. |
| Bedrooms The double & twin rooms have en-suite facilities, with a private bathroom for the remaining double, each with tea / coffee making facilities. All rooms look out over the lovely South facing garden to the fields beyond, a scene of pastoral tranquillity. Room Charge is £55.00 including breakfast for 2 persons. |
| Directions From the West: Take the A272 from Winchester towards Alresford & Petersfield After about 6 miles you arrive at the New Cheriton cross roads, turn right for Kilmeston, clearly signed, (also our sign on the A 272.) 1.5 miles up this lane you arrive in Kilmeston, drive on until the large village green with bus shelter on right, take next left at finger post marked Dean House, Dean Farm, B & B. We are 200yds down this lane on the left at the corner. From the East: Take the A272, through Bramdean to the second set of cross roads just after the "Hinton Arms" Public House, for the village of Kilmeston, clearly signed, to your left, and then drive on until the large village green with bus shelter on right, take next left at finger post marked Dean House, Dean Farm, B & B. We are 200yds down this lane on the left at the corner. |
