| it has been awarded B&B 4 Stars Quality Assurance by the Scottish Tourist Board. We are just 3 minutes drive from St Andrews town centre and golf courses. Parking is free, directly in front of our house, and for those who wish to leave their car, a taxi into town costs around only £2. Alternatively, you may choose to walk, taking the path alongside the burn, or the one overlooking the sea. To locate Coppercantie from the town centre, drive along St Mary's Place (a continuation of Market Street) towards the mini-roundabout. Go straight across the roundabout onto Doubledykes Road, and turn right at the end. You are now on Hepburn Gardens, and will come to a fork in the road with a telephone kiosk in the middle. Take the right-hand fork on to Buchanan Gardens, with the University playing fields on your right hand side. Just after the David Russell Halls of Residence turn left into Lawhead Road West. We are the fourth house along on the right. Golf, history, sea and university are a few reasons to visit St Andrews, and its small size means that everything is well within walking distance. Carnoustie is just across the Tay road bridge.Edinburgh is one hour by car, or train, and many little coastal fishing villages are within easy reach. Some folks even come to Coppercantie to consult the resident guru! David Dobson, the man of the house, particularly loves chatting to those who wish to explore their own Scottish history, with emphasis on the movement of the Scottish people. |
