| The Collingdale in Ilfracombe is a splendid six storey Victorian guest house, beautifully situated with miles of uninterrupted views across the harbour and magnificent coastline scenery of Hillsborough Nature Reserve. We are only a few minutes walk from the beach, harbour and town centre; Lundy Island is just a short boat trip away by the supply vessel M.S. Oldenburg, with regular sailings from Ilfracombe, while the dramatic coastal and moorland reaches of Exmoor National Park are readily accessible by car. The Collingdale is tastefully furnished to a high specification and our comfortable guest lounge provides a pleasant relaxed atmosphere to sit and read, watch television or enjoy the splendid scenery. Our gallery dining room displaying original paintings by local artists, serves freshly prepared and carefully presented home cooked cuisine; using locally farmed produce as available. The dining room leads to our sun terrace over-looking the harbour where you can relax with your morning coffee or an aperitif in the evening. Relax in our cosy bar where a good selection of beers, wines and spirits including malt whiskeys and fine brandies are available for you to enjoy. All of the nine bedrooms in this beautiful Victorian house are en-suite and furnished to a high standard with beverage making facilities, colour television, radio alarm, hairdryer and many thoughtful little extras. Our pleasant sunny garden is an ideal place to relax and enjoy the flowers displayed in our many hanging baskets and terracotta pots and we are proud to announce that we have won first place in Ilfracombe in Bloom in both 2004 and 2009. If you wish to book for a sports orientated break, we have special rates at some local golf courses (including Ilfracombe, Royal North Devon and Willingcott) and we are happy to book tee times on your behalf. Secure golf club storage and drying facilities are available. Sea fishing trips, which leave Ilfracombe harbour most days, can also be arranged for guests. |      |
