There are four first class golf courses in the area including, just a few minutes away, Royal Lytham St. Annes, the venue of the 2001 Open.

Blackpool South Shore with its Pleasure Beach and the beginning of both the trams and the famous illuminations is barely 10 minutes by car and equally accessible by buses, which run frequently from the stop just around the corner.
