| Welcome Church Farm Guest House is a charming, homely and spacious 16th century former farmhouse, carefully adapted to provide comfortable accommodation whilst retaining the original character. It stands in an acre of grounds with a stream and well established lawns, trees and shrubs. From Mitchel Troy there is easy access to the A40 and historic Monmouth, with its unique fortified Norman bridge, is only two miles away. Church farm is an excellent base for exploring the Wye Valley. Forest of Dean and Usk Valley and Abergavenny and the Black Mountains are less than half an hour's drive. The cities of Bristol, Cardiff, Hereford, Gloucester and Worcester are all under an hour away. We are only 15 miles from the M48 at Chepstow and even closer to the Ross end of the M50. Your hosts, Rosemary and Derek Ringer, offer you a warm welcome, especially in 2012, which happens to be our 25th season. Accommodation There is a good variety of rooms, all with private facilities. This means there is the flexibility to accommodate groups and family parties of varying sizes as well as individuals and couples etc. In simple terms the building is L shaped, giving two seperate areas of accommodation. Each has its own sitting room. There are 6 bedrooms in the main house, each en-suite with shower. The wing has 3 bedrooms, one of which has a private bathroom. It also has our one single room, although single occupancy of a double/twin room is not often a problem. With a small kitchen it is sometimes let on a self catering basis. We offer a good choice of breakfasts and can provide evening meals and packed lunches by arrangement. Where possible we use local or home grown produce and are happy to cater for vegetarians and other dietry requirements. |

| Activity Breaks Although we no longer run our own walking holidays, we know the area well and can still assist walkers of the Offa's Dyke Path or Wye Valley Walk with transport if using us as a base for 2 or more nights. We are well used to walking groups and regularly acommodate cyclists on the Land's End to John O'Groats route (plenty of cycle storage space). With numerous golf courses in the region, Rolls of Monmouth and Monmouth Golf Club are only a few miles away, we also attract golfers and for canoeists there are hire facilities in both Monmouth and Symond's Yat. |
