Chestnut Villa is a family run guest house established over 20 years ago. We pride ourselves on our warm and friendly service. The house is conveniently situated near the railway station within 5 minutes walk of the town centre.
All our rooms are warm, spacious and bright and double glazed with little extras to make your stay as relaxing and enjoyable as possible.
Downham Market is a small town conveniently situated for visiting the North Norfolk coast and the Fens.
There is an open air market on Fridays and Saturdays. The town centre has numerous shops, restaurants, pubs etc. A large sports and social centre with an indoor swimming pool and fitness centre is nearby.
Admiral Lord Nelson went to school in the town. The school building is now a prominent local department store.
Oxborough Hall is 5 miles away and is one of several National Trust or English Heritage properties in the local area. The country home of the Queen, Sandringham House, is 30 minutes away.
The Wildlife and Wetland Trusts Welney Centre is a short ride away as are several RSPB reserves.
The Fen Rivers Way is a Long Distance walking path which passes the town in between Cambridge and King's Lynn and goes on to the Peter Scott Way.
Denver Sluice is a renowned engineering system for maintaining water levels around the fens and is in the nearby village.
There is of course lots of fishing available locally.
There is also a nice local golf course.
The railway is a direct line to London (1 hour 40 minutes) and Cambridge (40 minutes) or Kings Lynn (10 minutes).
