| The Cavalier Hotel is open all year and offers every modern comfort in a beautiful old building only 250 yards from the city walls and five minutes walk from the Minster, city centre and most famous historic land marks. The Cavalier is also well placed for easy access to the outer ring road for those wishing to tour the North Yorkshire Moors, Yorkshire Dales and East Coast resorts. The fashionable spa town of Harrogate and busy commercial city Leeds are easily accessible by road and train.York has excellent train links with the whole country in particular London and Edinburgh. Notably there is a direct link from Manchester airport to York station. The hotel is a short taxi ride from the station or a 10 minute walk. The hotel is a Georgian listed building recently refurbished to provide very comfortable accommodation. |

| Location The hotel is situated very close to the City walls and the Minster is a five minute stroll away. All the famous tourist points of interest are near to hand. With central York having an abundance of restaurants, cafes and bistro's all tastes are likely to be catered for. How To Find Us.... Directions from the North Follow the A19 to the city walls and turn left at the lights. Turn right at the next set of lights into Lord Mayors Walk. Turn left at the next Lights; this is Monkgate. The Cavalier is about 250 yards on the left. Directions from the South Approaching York on the A64, pass through the traffic lights on the dual carriageway (this is the start of the York bypass) and take the third exit towards York -the York / Hull A1079. Follow the road to the third set of lights, at the city walls, and turn right onto Foss Islands Road. Go straight over the next set of lights and follow the city walls -this road is one way; take the right hand lane and turn right at the traffic lights. This is Monkgate, the Cavalier Hotel is about 250 yards on the left |
