| The Carlton Hotel - Welcome... The Carlton Hotel and Restaurant is situated in the main thoroughfare at Peel Place, High Street, Montrose. Considering the hotel dates back to the late 1700's, it is in excellent condition throughout. Many of the original features still remain in situ, such as the ornate cornices' and roses, this also includes the original staircase. The majority of the windows remain in their original cases, including the glass panes! The hotel has been under new management since November 2007 by the well known locals Graeme and Natalie Lamb. It has eight en-suite bedrooms and two restaurants, which also incorporates a lounge bar. The owners live in the premises therefore offering all the home comforts. The hotel also boasts an enclosed private car park at the rear of the premises, in addition the owners will provide free local transport as required. |  |
   | Rooms & Tariffs Each bedroom is equipped with shower, WC and sink, RC colour television, and tea and coffee making facilities. Additional tea and coffee can be obtained at any time free of charge. Breakfast includes cereal, and traditional cooked. All breakfasts are prepared and cooked to order, which can be orderd the previous evening if required, therefore breakfast can be on the table at the time requested, freshly cooked. Breakfast is normally served between 07:00am - 09:00am, although outwith these times can be catered for. Wake up calls can be arranged, breakfast cooked to order and free local transport provided. We have the following room arrangements: 1 Double - 1 Double bed, en-suite. 2 Twin - 2 Twin beds, en-suite. 2 Family - 1 King size double, 2 Singles, double en-suite. 3 Triple - 1 King size and 1 single, double en-suite. | Restaurant There are two restaurants within the hotel, each seating 35 guests. Well known and respected head chef Gordon Bannochie boasts in excess of 20 years experience, his menus are updated on a monthly basis, and as per the season. Vegetarian Vegetarian and diet requirement meals are catered for on request. Quality We offer the best quality food and service including the popular "lunchtime specials" where all main meals are priced at £4.95, then add a sweet for £1.00! Weekend Bookings During the weekends, booking is not essential, it is absolutely paramount! We take no pleasure in turning people away. The return trade proves our distinct leadership when dining out. We also support the community by sourcing our food products locally. |    |
