| Bucks House is a beautiful Grade II Listed house in the centre of Great Bardfield. This delightful village has many lovely medieval buildings and the centre is a conservation area. Peter and Nessie Poston look forward to welcoming you to their home. Although only 20 minutes from Stansted Airport, we are not on the flight path, so a peaceful night is assured. |
| All centrally heated bedrooms are furnished with style, having armchairs, antique furniture, comfortable beds with electric blankets, fans, proper feather pillowsand duvets. However, if you can have allergies, we can provide synthetic bedding. |
| Each room has a tea/coffee tray with biscuits, mineral water, colour television and clock radio. Our four poster room is perfect for a honeymoon or anniversary and we can arrange for champagne and flowers! Guests are welcome to use our beautiful walled garden and cosy Georgian sitting room. |
Bathrooms have bathrobes, toiletries, hair dryers and heated rollers, together with big fluffy bath sheets. Our delicious breakfasts are cooked individually with dry cured local bacon and sausages, free range eggs and home made preserves. Self service continental breakfast is available for guests leaving early for Stansted Airport. Our dining room is perfect for small business meetings, and we are happy to quote you. Free internet and wifi access is available to all our guests. There are many good restaurants and pubs in our area and we are happy to make recommendations. We can also make reservations and organise taxis. |
| We are ten miles from Stansted Airport where taxis and hire cars are plentiful. Our latest check-in is 22.00hrs. We regret we can only take children under 1 year and over 10 years. We have a travel cot and high chair. We welcome dogs who bring their own beds. We are ten minutes from Freeport Shopping Village and close by is Finchingfield, Spains Hall, Thaxted, Saffron Walden, Braintree, Towerlands Equestrian Centre, the Fennes Estate, Leez Priory and Audley End House. The High Barn is a 5 minute walk. The Bardfield Business Centre is also walking distance. Cambridge is 40 minutes and East London one hour. The new Great Leighs race course is 15 minutes drive.We can provide the telephone numbers of local taxi companies or can book taxis for you. This area is very beautiful and perfect for a country weekend away or a short weekday break. Constable Country is easily accessible, as are the Suffolk wool towns of Lavenham and Long Melford. We welcome walkers and cyclists and can store bicycles safely. Packed lunches are available. |
