Set in extensive sheltered gardens, it is backed by woods and a stream with long views over open fields to the front and a glimpse of the sea.Marvellous walks, castles and gardens, as well as golf, fishing, superb birdwatching and riding are all available nearby.

Quiet Comfort and Fine ViewsOur spacious rooms have large beds, cotton sheets, and a varied selection of books – from guides spiritual, horticultural and ornithological, to novels, local and national history, not to mention AGA-drama, Agamemnon and Asterix. The views to the front stretch out over the neighbouring fields where hares and deer can often be seen, while at the back, the house is sheltered by a backdrop of mature trees.

Bedrooms are spacious with either a shower or a bath en-suite.
Hot water bottles on request in winter.

Wheelchair GuestsOn the ground floor, we now have a double en-suite room for those in a wheelchair, fully equipped with a hoist to help guests into bed. The brand new bathroom (wetroom) has a wheel-in shower.

Access from the front door through the house is level and easy while guests can get to the dining room and sitting room on the ground floor without difficulty.

Parking is level and close by the front door while the large garden also has no steps and is fully accessible for wheelchairs.


Eating WellAlthough we do not offer dinner at Brunton House on a regular basis, we can occasionally do so by arrangement. Fresh vegetables are from our garden and otherwise we source the finest local produce available.Vegetarians also catered for. Home-baked bread is a speciality of the house.

There are several pubs and restaurants nearby. It is always advisable to book in the summer. They tend to stop serving at around 9 pm, so please do ring ahead to check if you think you might arrive later.


Special EventsWe shall be running a variety of courses at Brunton House starting soon with upholstery, cookery, yoga, meditation and bridge weekends.All our courses will be taught at the house in small groups (7-8 max) by expert and thoughtful instructors at competitive rates. The content of each course will be tailored to the requirements of each group as far as is possible. Full board is included in the price.

Photography Course
Professional photographer Garry Brannigan is running four landscape photography courses at Brunton House. Each course group has a maximum of five photographers which ensures you receive a high level of individual tuition throughout.
