About Us
Botton Grove is a traditional working hill farm of approximately 100acres. We breed and rear sheep and have two seperate flocks; the pure-bred swaledale sheep are very hardy and live on the moor whilst the half-bred sheep need better grazing and live in the fields. We also breed Cleveland Bay Horses and usually have 5 or 6 broodmares or youngsters on the farm.
Botton Grove Farm is set in the heart of the North York Moors National Park, towards the head of Danby Dale. The moorland villages of Danby, Ainthorpe and Castleton are some 3 miles away. Excellent bar meals are available in the village pubs.
Whether it is walking along the ancient moorland paths; exploring the North Yorkshire coastline; enjoying a relaxing journey on the steam train; visiting the historic city of York; soaking up the atmospere of 'Heartbeat' and 'Herriot' country all are easily accessible from Botton Grove Farm.
