While many people love walking along Marine Parade, which is the town's sea front, you will have a better view of the sea from Langmoor Garden ( 5mins from our B&B ). We have extra sofa bed in our backroom, and also small single room for extra person from same party/family. Please do enquire for further details. |
If you love walking in the countryside, then The Undercliff, which is owned by The National Trust, could be a very satisfying walk to the west, towards Seaton in Devon (aprox.3h.). You can even catch a Bus at Seaton, if you are too tired to walk back. At the beginning of the Undercliff walk there are some superb views of Lyme Bay, and the Cobb, completely invisible to the people down on the beach. There you can enjoy a quiet picnic among sheep and wild flowers!
Lyme Regis is famous as a seaside town. We have not only the sea but other quiet charms too. Going inland, you can enjoy a quiet riverside walk away from the busy town centre along the river Lym. Passing through the Old Town of Lyme Regis, your riverside walk starts by the Town Mill. This has just recently been reopened to the public and the ancient millwheel is now fully working. |
| If you prefer a shorter walk, then we suggest that you try the Eastern beach walk to Charmouth. This walk is best done at low tide and takes about 40 mins. You will pass some famous fossil beds in the cliffs and you will see many fossils in the rocks on the way ! There are some very nice Italian, French, Indian and English Restaurants, all within convenient walking distance. There are two other secondhand, & one new bookshop in the town. The nearest Public Car Park is behind our house. |
