About Us

The Boatyard Inn is a traditional pub and restaurant, ideally situated in the heart of Bangor and close to all the local amenities.

We are a very popular stopover for visitors to Bangor University. In a delightful location overlooking the Hirael Bay and The Menai Straits, we are only 25 minutes from Holyhead by train or car, so we also make an ideal stopover point for travellers to and from the Irish Republic.

Whether you are here for business or pleasure, you can always be sure of a very warm welcome at all times.

Drinks

The cosy, friendly bar offers lovingly conditioned, superb quality cask ales. There is always one regular ale on tap, and at least two more guest ales on offer. The Boatyard Inn has consistently received top marks for cellar management and we are proud to be one of only a small proportion of pubs selected to be included in the 'CAMRA Good Beer Guide.

In addition, we offer a good selection of bottled beers, wines and spirits.

Dining

The Bistro-style dining room offers the perfect setting for lunch or evening meals.

The menu boasts a tempting selection of freshly prepared, home cooked food. We use the finest, locally sourced fish, meat and game, and a range of vegetarian dishes.

Sunday Lunch is very popular with locals and visitors alike, with bookings advisable to avoid disappointment.

Special diets can be catered for with prior notice.

Accommodation

We offer budget, but very comfortable and clean accommodation. Our single, double and twin rooms are all equipped with colour television and a tea/coffee tray.

In the morning, you can look forward to a choice of Full Welsh or Continental or Vegetarian breakfast.
