| The Blue Swallow Guesthouse is a lovely Victorian house on the edge of the historic market town of Penrith, gateway to the Northern Lake District. It is family run, and your hosts, Peter and Cynthia Barry, look forward to welcoming you into their home. Built in 1851 this charming Victorian town house stands in a terrace with other Victorian houses, on the main entrance road into Penrith. It mixes the old with the new, and has all modern facilities throughout. The basement breakfast room has a Mediterranean feel to it, where you can choose between our hearty English breakfast, or a lighter one to suit your taste. We can also cater for vegetarians or other special diets. |

| Rooms & Rates The Guesthouse has 7 bedrooms and prices are from: Double Room - £29.00 per person Twin Room - £29.00 per person Family Room - Price on request Single Room - £36.00 Single occupancy of a Twin/Double Room - from £37.50
 All bedrooms are non-smoking, and payment for the rooms can be made either by cash, cheque or credit/debit cards. A small surcharge will be made for credit cards. All prices are per room per night, and include a full English breakfast, or lighter breakfast if you prefer. We pride ourselves on the comfortable furnishings and high level of cleanliness you will find in each room. Every room also comes with colour television, tea and coffee making facilities, and central heating. Our aim is to make your stay with us as enjoyable and comfortable as possible. |
| Location Being only 1 mile from the M6 motorway and right on the edge of the Lake District, the Blue Swallow Guesthouse is perfect for either a holiday base or a stopover on the way to or from Scotland. Its location close to the centre of town also makes it very popular with visiting business people. To find us just leave the motorway at junction 40 and head east on the A66. At the next roundabout take the first exit onto Bridge Lane and follow this road towards Penrith centre. Go straight over a mini roundabout, then the Guest House is 100 yards away on your left hand side. |
