Black Ness Cottage is tucked away in the heart of the South Hams countryside, idyllically situated in a small hamlet only a mile from the pretty riverside village of Dittisham and midway between the lovely old towns of Totnes and Dartmouth.

There are many local walks, including the Dart Valley Trail which passes the house, and the South West Coast Path is only a short drive away.

We have several local hostelries within a couple of miles, providing a wide variety of eating-places.

Black Ness Cottage, Totnes, Breakfast Room 11K

Black Ness Cottage dates back to the 17th century but has been modernised to provide relaxed and comfortable accommodation. There is a double and a twin bedded room, both with wash basins, colour TV and tea/coffee making facilities, and a guest bathroom - all the views over the beautiful gardens, which you are welcome to enjoy.

Plymouth, Exeter and Torbay are all within a 45-minute drive, as too is Dartmoor. The coast, as well as glorious walking, offers Slapton with its nature reserve, Salcome, an attractive sailing centre, and Thurlstone, Bigbury Bay and Blackpool Sands (far removed from its famous namesake!), all sought after for their beaches.

Add to these Dartmouth, where you can enjoy a trip on the river or just spend time exploring this charming little town or watching the world go by on the water.

Black Ness Cottage is also the home of an artist whose paintings can be seen in most rooms of the cottage. He is always happy to sell to the discerning buyer!
