The Atholl Arms Hotel is a traditional Highland Hotel, which has built up its reputation on good food, comfort and friendly service over more than 160 years.

Atholl Arms Hotel, Pitlochry, Front of Hotel, 12K

It was built in 1832, the foundation stone of the "New Inn" being laid two years earlier by John, the 4th Duke of Atholl, and soon became principal staging post on the road from London to Inverness.

In 1856 the ballroom was added and this was used for the Dukes private entertainment and for Atholl gatherings. Being one of Perthshire's premier hotels it has been patronised by Royalty. In 1884 Queen Victoria visited the hotel and in 1866 Empress Eugene of France, travelling incognito as the Countess de Pierefonds, stayed here. The hotel is the meeting place for the well known Murray and Donnachaidh Clans.

The recently completed roads from Edinburgh and Glasgow and the direct rail link from London, make Blair Atholl easy to reach. The hotel is situated midway between Edinburgh and Inverness, one mile from the main A9 road opposite Blair Castle in the peaceful and picturesque village of Blair Atholl.Atholl Arms Hotel, Pitlochry, Bar, 10K
