The Atholl Arms Hotel is a traditional Highland Hotel, which has built up its reputation on good food, comfort and friendly service over more than 160 years.![]() It was built in 1832, the foundation stone of the "New Inn" being laid two years earlier by John, the 4th Duke of Atholl, and soon became principal staging post on the road from London to Inverness. In 1856 the ballroom was added and this was used for the Dukes private entertainment and for Atholl gatherings. Being one of Perthshire's premier hotels it has been patronised by Royalty. In 1884 Queen Victoria visited the hotel and in 1866 Empress Eugene of France, travelling incognito as the Countess de Pierefonds, stayed here. The hotel is the meeting place for the well known Murray and Donnachaidh Clans. |
Be it an informal light meal or an evening meal you can be assured of the best quality food, fine wines and magnificent surroundings. |
