Location

Situated 100 yards just off the sea-front, the Ashborne is ideally located for all of Sunderland and the North East's many attractions. We have leaflets and information about all kinds of activities here at the guesthouse, and would be happy to help you choose which of the many places to visit you would enjoy the most.

In the immediate area around the Ashborne alone, there are many things to do. Just a short walk away is the recently opened Roker marina, where guests can enjoy the atmosphere, try a range of water sports, or enjoy fine food. Similarly, the National Glass Centre is also very nearby, and offers educational and informative entertainment for all ages - see glass go through the various stages of the manufacturing process and admire some of the best glass exhibits in the world. We are also close to St. Peter's Church, which is of international historical interest and was the home of the Venerable Bede right back in AD674.
