Argyle House is a well maintained Victorian property centrally located in the West Cliff conservation area of Whitby. Being only 200 yards from Whitby's award winning beaches and five minutes walk from the main shopping area and harbour, Argyle House is the perfect place for your stay in Whitby. | Argyle House is centrally heated throughout with colour television, hair dryers, clock/radio, towels, soaps, shampoos and hot drinks in all of our rooms. All of our rooms are en-suite and are well decorated and maintained. A full English or vegetarian breakfast is served in our restored dining-room, between 8.30 and 9.00 am. Special dietary requirements can be catered for by prior arrangement. For the comfort of all our guests, Arygle House is a fully Non-Smoking establishment. | Places to Visit: Argyle House is located on Whitby's West Cliff within walking distance of the bustling harbour, the far-reaching sandy beaches, Pannet Park with its Museum and Art Gallery, the Spa Theatre, the 13th Century Abbey and its award winning visitors centre, sports facilities and shops. Why not try Whitby's famous Fish and Chips or have an evening meal in one of Whitby's many restaurants or pub's. A brisk walk up the 199 Abbey steps should work it off! The Esk Valley Railway links Whitby with Middlesbrough, stopping at most villages including Grosmont, home of the North York Moors Steam Railway where a short ride takes you to Goathland, home of T.V. 'Heartbeat'. Argyle House is ten minutes walk from the bus station which has bus link to Scarborough, Middlesbrough, Leeds and York, with local links to Robin Hoods' Bay, Staithes, Runswick Bay and other surrounding villages. |
