Arch House - a very distinguished old house in Wells-next-the-Sea, just a few minutes walk to the beautiful Quay. Built around 1830 to offer the Excise man a good vantage point over the town.... boo .... it's put too much better use these days as a rather pleasant retreat for the discerning traveller. A friendly welcome awaits guests to our house, where Comfort & Quality, Great Food & Good Wine make what one distinguished guest described as. "An excellent B&B experience - probably the best we have seen - 1st class breakfast" - Graeme Macleod - Chief Executive Officer - Specialised Hotels Group - Jo'Burg. Arch House had a very eventful year in her life in 2006, a huge transformation, and I'm sure if these walls had an opinion and could give it voice, they would say "Wow, that feels sooo good" (smile)... We're pleased beyond words and hope you agree that the lovely old place is still looking good. With television in all the bedrooms along with everything you need to make a nice cuppa, we're sure your stay will be everything you could wish for. Jon & Kate |
Our breakfast rooms are delightfully fresh and happy, a reflection of Wells we think... and some very good breakfasts to be had here too!
Al Fresco breakfast on the deck - and the sun will still be shining for the evening Gin & Tonic (smile) All our bedrooms seem to have determined their very own character... Room One has a timeless elegance... with views over open countryside.  While sassy room Nine has got to have the most comfortable bed in the entire universe.... probably Quirky? or just insane, room six  Our favourite room - with a sun kiss at dawn - and a lovely view over open fields.... | How to find us Arch House, 50 Mill Road, Wells-next-the-sea, Norfolk, NR23 1DB We're about 5 mins walk to the quay, shops and restaurant/pubs. Our large car park is to the rear of the house, as you look at the front of the house, follow the wall round to the Left (Mill Road) and drive through the first hole in the wall.... |
| Wells-next-the-Sea For many the very centre of this incredibly beautiful region, just a short picturesque hop to the likes of Walsingham, Sandringham, Thursford and Holkham, all extraordinary places to visit... if you manage to spare the time that is from the most incredible local walks, taking you across field, marsh and sand... through ancient villages... with some truly great Houses of refreshment en route...enjoy! |
