Turn into a large driveway flanked by friendly nodding trees offering you a warm welcome to April Cottage. Drive into a courtyard which has parking for 6 cars, and gaze over farmland with cows and horses grazing peacefully surrounded by the wonderful Dorset countryside. A highly desirable up-market property which is set in some three acres of grounds with lovely gardens, terraces and stables all of which surround the cottage.  April Cottage was originally two cottages built approximately 200 years ago which have been mellowed into one superior property. The original is featured in the quiet un-spoilt area of Nottington Village well known for its Spa House - 200 yards from April Cottage and its infamous Spa Water. A cascading mill stream fronts many of the attractive stone and graphite cottages which are part of the charm of the village. Folk lore relates to the tales of when the local inhabitants of Nottington were asked many moons ago if they would allow a village pub to be built - it was flatly refused. The holiday makers' beverage must therefore be sought one and half miles away from April Cottage at the Swan Inn. A handy supermarket lies only a five minute car journey away, a closer petrol station within walking distance provides the morning papers etc. The historic county town of Dorchester is only 4 miles away and the beach at Weymouth with its golden sands only two miles. |
Ground floor: - Large kitchen, laundry room and porched area. Large lounge with wood burner, raised wooden floored dining area. 1st floor: - Large bathroom with bath/shower over, toilet and hand basin. Two double en-suite rooms, also there is the use of own guest lounge and dining room. The rooms are centrally heated, in the winter there will be log fires. There is a telephone, fax and internet available for a small charge. Stables offered to holiday makers who may wish to stable their own horses at a small extra cost.
