Applegarth Villa is a magnificent Arts and Crafts period property set in a quiet area of Windermere Village within easy walking distance of the train station and shops with the unique benefit of free and private off road parking.
Elegantly appointed, Applegarth offers a choice of Lake District accommodation from classic double rooms to luxury four-postes with views over the Lakeland fells.
To compliment this magnificent building, all our rooms are fully coordinated with fabrics and soft furnishings carefully chosen by our interior designer. Wall mounted flat screen TV's, clock radio / ipod docks, wifi, refreshment tray, bottled Lakeland water, bathrobes and power showers all come as standard!
Our oak panelled bar with roaring fire gives you the opportunity to relax and unwind whilst choosing dinner from our extensive menu, all freshly prepared by our own award winning chef.
In Summer, the hotel terrace is a perfect place to enjoy a quiet drink whilst watching the sun set over the Lakeland fells before dining in our stunning conservatory restaurant.
Our wonderful location gives you the opportunity of stepping onto the Lakeland Fells, boarding a steamer on Lake Windermere or visiting some of the many attractions the Lake District has to offer. Yet the hotel is only 20 minutes by car from the M6 motorway and a very short walk from the main bus and rail service.

The Lake District Applegarth Hotel & Restaurant has eighteen individually designed bedrooms, many of which enjoy excellent views towards Lake District fells and Lake Windermere.
All rooms offer stylish en-suite facilities, the latest flat screen televisions, tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryers, direct dial telephones, egyptian cotton linen, luxury toiletries and complimentary bottled water.
We have five luxurious four-poster bedrooms available, which have stunning views towards the surrounding fells and are ideal for that special occasion!
All our rooms are light and spacious with plenty of room to relax, unwind and enjoy your stay here in the most beautiful corner of England.
Travelling alone? Fed up of having to pay single supplements in hotels that only have double rooms? Well at the Applegarth hotel we have four single rooms available that do not attract any additional charges.

JR's Restaurant
We invite you to come and experience first class dining in our beautiful conservatory restaurant, where you can watch the sunset over the stunning mountain views.
The restaurant is not restricted to residents, non-residents are always welcome, but we would advise booking to avoid disappointment.
We have recently appointed a highly acclaimed head chef with a view to achieving our goal of obtaining AA Rosettes this year. John Draper has five years experience as a Head chef with Swallow hotels and Trust House Forte and has 26 years experience as a Lecturer and Curriculum leader at Kendal College.
As well as personally training students to win in all major competitions, John has over a 100 medals and certificates to his credit.
