You can cruise to Dartmouth or Torquay; try your hand at mackerel fishing or even enroll on a scuba diving course. Golfers have an excellent 18 hole course in Churston, whilst newcomers can try their luck on the 18 hole pitch and putt. Walkers and ramblers are well catered for with the South West Coastal Path and the recently opened Musgrave Heritage Trail which runs from Brixham along the Dart Valley towards Totnes and on through Cockington Village to Babbacombe. Bird watchers can enjoy the guillemots perched on the cliffs at Berry Head during springtime and early summer. Further a field you can visit Dartmoor National Park, or visit the market town of Totnes which is only 20 to 30 minutes drive away. Other local attractions on offer are: Paignton Zoo, Living Coasts coastal Zoo, Quaywest water park, Dart Valley Steam Railway, Cockington Village, Babbacombe Model Village, Bygones Victorian Street. How to Find Us When travelling from the M5 around Exeter follow the directions towards Torquay first taking the A38 then a left fork onto the A380 (Telegraph Hill). Continue along the A380 in the direction of Torquay (Besigheim Way) onto a traffic light controlled roundabout. Take the 2nd exit A380 towards Torquay. After approximately 2 miles you arrive at another roundabout where you take the 2nd exit (right turn) A380 Torbay Ring Road towards Brixham (Hellovoetsluis Way). Follow this road crossing 2 further roundabouts towards Brixham which is now signposted. On arriving at the traffic lights at the entrance to Brixham bear left towards the town centre and harbour. The Anchorage Guest House is immediately on the right having passed the traffic lights. |
