| Recreation Recreation facilities abound and one can have a relaxing round on the Putting Green, Table Tennis or Pool in the games room. Practice Golf Area and an outdoor heated Swimming Pool are some of the other facilities available. The golden sand shores of the Moray Firth are about 200 yds from the hotel and access is by way of a path across the golf course. This part of the beach, which is safe at all states of the tides is used almost exclusively by guests of the Alton Burn. Nair stages a very popular tennis "Open Tournament" in July Nairn has two Championship and one Nine Hole Golf Courses, and we can arrange Tee Times and Golfing Breaks for you or your Party. ![]() 18th Green and Club House. Nairn Golf Club The Nairn Courses are Venues for many Tournaments, such as the Northern Open Scottish Amateur. The British Amateur. The Walker Cup was played over Nairn in September 1999. Both Courses stage Open tournaments in the Summer. There are more than 25 courses within an hours drive from the hotel, including Royal Dornoch and Moray Old. | With Nairn as the centre many lovely runs can be taken these vary in scope from a visit to Skye which takes a whole day or short trips to Cawdor and Brodie castles, Culloden Battlefield, Fort George, Loch Ness with its elusive Monster or the 'Whisky Trail'. The climate of the Moray Firth is generally mild and dry and according to statistics Nairn has the lowest rainfall in the whole of Britain, (the hotel has a drying room just in case). |

| How to Get There By Road The main Inverness (16 miles) to Aberdeen (90 miles) A96 trunk road crosses the district which is well provided with regular connecting bus services. See our sign on the west side of Nairn, north side of A96. By Air Inverness Airport is situated at Dalcross, 8 miles west of Nairn. There are direct scheduled flights to Glasgow and London."Private helicopters are very welcome with prior notice." By Rail There are frequent train services to Inverness and Aberdeen with daytime and sleeper connections to the rest of the country. Nairn Railway Station is only 1 mile from the hotel. |
