After extensive refurbishment, David and Gillian warmly welcome you to our lovingly restored Victorian Town House.

Centrally situated only 7 minutes walk to the city centre and tourist attractions. Only 1/2 mile from the famous Knaversmire racecourse.

Many of the original features have been retained giving a beautiful, traditionally furnished lounge, which is both elegant and comfortable. Fresh flowers, paintings and personal touches in abundance make it the perfect place after a day of sightseeing or shopping to relax, unwind and instantly feel at home.

Alexander House is non-smoking throughout for your comfort.

Enjoy our delicious breakfasts served in our cosy Victorian dining room where quality of ingredients and freshness of produce are a must.

Our four newly refurbished attractive bedrooms are thoughtfully equipped with every modern, personal comfort.

We have a small private car park for 3 small cars at the rear of the property. There is also unrestricted car parking 100 yards from the house.

How to Find Us

For those travelling on the A1 North, leave A1 at junction with A64. Take the second York exit from A64 marked York West A1036. Head towards the city centre (approx. 2 miles) turn right (opposite Quick-Fit Garage) into Scarcroft Road. At the end of the road, turn right, Alexander House is approx. 100 yards on the left.

For those travelling into York on the A59 from Harrogate - Boroughbridge/A1 South, follow the A59 into the city and turn right immediately after crossing the Iron Bridge at the traffic lights turn left into the Mount and turn right (opposite Quick-Fit Garage) into Scarcroft Road. At the end of the road turn right, Alexander House is approx. 100 yards on the left.
