| Alconbury is our elegant Edwardian family home. It is situated within a conservation area and is only a short walk from the centre of Tunbridge Wells, with its superb shops and restaurants, mainline railway station and, of course, the historic Pantiles. London is only 50 minutes away by train and the service runs every half hour.
We can offer you a spacious double/twin-bedded room with an en-suite bathroom. The room is decorated like the rest of the house, in Edwardian style with antique furniture and old prints. There is an open fire which we can light for you in winter. The room has a colour television, tea and coffee making facilities as well as a dining table and easy chairs. A hairdryer, Ironing board and fan are also provided. ![]() Our aim is to make your stay with us as memorable as possible. With prior notice we should be able to meet most requests. We offer a wide choice of breakfasts and are happy to cater for special diets. We can provide cream teas (by prior arrangement) as well as light snacks. Most of the food we serve is organically produced and all drinking water is filtered. We have off street parking as well as a pretty, south facing garden where guests are welcome to relax. ![]() We are delighted to have been awarded 5 Stars by Visit Britian as well as a Silver Award and were also invited last year to appear in the AA's "Britain's Best Bed and Breakfast" Guide. For the benefit of everyone we are a non smoking household. |
| What our guests have said: "What can I say - just wonderful, loved every minute." "A perfect way to end a vacation. We have for one night lived truly Edwardian. The Alconbury B&B has by far outdone most hotels we have stayed in Britain. The friendliness and care that was shown to us just added that little extra to make this a place to return to and remember." "Charming. A well earned break from a busy life! Heaven here on earth. We look forward to a return visit. Thank you for such wonderful hospitality." "A most fortuitous find in this peaceful, well-placed location. An extremely warm welcome with a really personal touch. The cooked breakfast was highly appreciated. Would love to come again." "This is our second home in Royal Tunbridge Wells. We feel sorry for anyone who stays here at the start of a touring holiday of B&Bs - this is a standard that no one else lives up to!!" "American B&Bs could be well served to take a few lessons from Camilla on how to make your customer feel perfectly at home. Not only are the accommodation and food noteworthy, but Camilla's attention to every minute detail leaves you with nothing more to desire. What words would I use - immaculate, copy, outstanding? I can sum it up this way - It's not "just like home" It's Better!!" "Beautiful room, very comfortable, every need imaginable taken care of. Would love to come back." |
