Alconbury is our elegant, Edwardian family home which we run as a bed and breakfast. We are situated within a peaceful conservation area and our luxurious rooms and silver service are perfect for a romantic weekend away.
Our bed and breakfast is only a short walk from the centre of Tunbridge Wells (Kent) with its superb shops and restaurants, mainline railway station and the historic Pantiles. Tunbridge Wells is also a perfect base from which to explore the many beautiful gardens and castles in Kent.
London is only 50 minutes away by train and the service runs every half hour. The south coast with its swimming beaches and cliff top walks is just 35 minutes away by car. Go for the day and take a picnic - we can prepare a hamper for you.

We have two bedrooms we can offer our guests. There is a television and DVD player in each room as well as a hostess tray, broadband connection, an ironing board, a hairdryer and a fan.
All our rooms have central heating and are kept spotlessly clean and tidy, a pre-requisite for our 5 star SILVER rating. All our pillows and duvets are high quality anti - allergy. In the winter all beds are equipped with an electric blanket and extra blankets, duvets and pillows are available if required.

 | The interior of the house is luxurious, spacious and in period style with antique furniture, old prints, polished floors and open fireplaces.
There is a pretty south facing garden with a sun terrace which our guests are welcome to use and where you can enjoy a cream tea (by prior arrangement).

Our aim is to make your stay with us as memorable as possible. With prior notice we should be able to meet most requests. Should you be celebrating we would be happy to provide flowers and chocolates in your room.
Breakfast
We offer a wide choice of food at breakfast which is served in our elegant dining room between 7 and 10am. Couples who wish to enjoy breakfast in peace may eat in the bay window of our living room, overlooking the garden. Alternatively, if you only require a light breakfast, we would be happy to serve it in your room.
Wherever possible we use organic produce and there are many healthy options on the menu. Special diets are catered for on request.

There is a broadband connected computer available for our guests to use if they wish.
We have a large collection of menus from local restaurants for you to browse. We are always more than happy to provide a recommendation as we have dined at most of them ourselves. Alternatively if you wish to stay in we provide light hot and cold snacks.
We also have a selection of local guide books, maps and information leaflets on the attractions of the surrounding area provided in your room.
We will book a taxi for you if you need it.
