Wherever you are on the world porridge is synonymous with the Scots breakfast. It displays we like a hearty start to the day.

When our guests leave in the morning, whether to tour or work, they leave satisfied and well set up for the day. See the menu, place your imagination at our tables and you're almost there. All that's left is to try it for real!!

Starters

To get those eyes open and body alert, we serve a range of fruits including Melon, Grapefruit, Prunes, bananas, Apples and Nectarines.After that there's a variety of cereals including Cornflakes, Weetabix, Rice Crispies and muesli. For those with a sweet tooth we have chocolate and sugar coated cereals. We also keep a good selection of yogurts. Dare we say we also have porridge?
Main Breakfast

Our guests have a full choice of what goes in the plate. Sizzling bacon, eggs cooked to guest orders, the relished Scots black pudding, link or lorne sausage, fresh mushrooms, fresh tomatoes or tinned plum tomatoes, beans and potato scone.

As well as fried, boiled, poached or scramble egg we can prepare your choice of omelets. All food is cooked with the love of making a home homely. Smiles are our reward.
To wash your food down

Breakfast tea, a range various herbal teas, coffee, cappuccino, hot chocolate and juices of orange, pineapple or grapefruit.
Also at the breakfast table

Rack of toast (white or brown), French rolls, croissant, an assortment of condiments and cheese.

Direction to and from Edinburgh City Centre

Edinburgh Airport: Take airport bus to city centre. G to Marks and Spencers shop on Princes Street, take bus number 44 which takes you directly to Milton Road East. Ask driver to stop beside the Kings Manor Hotel, The Aaran Lodge Guest House is directly opposite the bus stop.

Directions by car on Edinburgh Bypass (A720): Follow signs for A1 Berwick-upon-Tweed until you get to 'Old Craighall Roundabout' (On A1) turn left onto the A1 follow signs for Edinburgh. After about 1mile you approach a roundabout with Asda on your left. Go straight over then you come to another roundabout. Take third opening right onto Milton Road East (signed Joppa and Mussleburgh). GO straight along road about 300 yards, we are on your right, next to the Kings Manor Hotel
