Four Gables, 28KVisitors will love the accommodation in this unique 1900 arts & crafts style house with its wealth of character - oak and terracotta floors, fireplaces and gorgeous moulded ceilings. An attractive and spacious lounge is available for guests' use.

Four Gables is in a peaceful setting down a private lane, yet only 5 minutes' walk from the bustling Georgian village of Boston Spa with its restaurants, shops and riverside walks. The beautiful gardens, extending over half an acre, include an interesting collection of plants and trees - and a well-tended croquet lawn.

Breakfast at Four Gables is a treat. A generous continental breakfast includes fruit from David's garden (in season) and Anne's homemade jams, marmalade and tea breads.

Cooked breakfasts can be traditional English, using free-range eggs and the best bacon and sausage from the local butcher, or there are gourmet selections such as scrambled eggs with Scottish smoked salmon. Vegetarian options available.

Four Gables bed and breakfast accommodation is ideally located in Boston Spa, near Wetherby in West Yorkshire. Its location makes it the ideal place to stay for visits to York, Leeds, Wetherby Racecourse, the Yorkshire Dales and North Yorkshire Moors.

All of the beds have a fluffy down duvet (a lighter duvet is provided during the summer months) and all of the bed linen and towels are Egyptian cotton. Free WIFI throughout the house. Each room has a television with DVD, there is a small library of movies on the landing for guests to choose from. There are tea/coffee making facilities with local bottled water or a filter jug more environmentally friendly!, with a selection of coffees and teas as well as a biscuit to take the edge off. By the way, each of the bathrooms has a window! Most hotels don't!

And a word about pets: we are happy to welcome well-behaved dogs in our cottages, but in the interest of guests who may suffer from allergies, we regret that we do not allow pets in our bedrooms at Four Gables.

Four Gables is a proud member of the Delicious Yorkshire Breakfast scheme: daily breakfast specials reflect David and Anne's commitment to using local ingredients.

David and Anne are health conscious, and Anne's style of cooking reflects that. Some of it is just common sense: seasonal, fresh food of the best quality, organic whenever possible. Anne does use butter - but in small quantities. Free range eggs - we have our own hens, but they cannot always match demand - sorry. Bacon, sausage and tomatoes are grilled. The cream is fat-reduced. Coffee, tea and sugar is Fair Trade and organic whenever possible.

It may interest you to know that Anne makes over 200 jars of jam per year, using fruit from David's garden as well as wild cherries and blackberries that they pick in secret locations. She also makes over 50 pounds of orange marmalade (no, the oranges are not from the garden) and bakes approx. 100 tea breads per year.

David and Anne hope you will enjoy eating their prize-winning breakfast as much as they've enjoyed preparing it.

Four Gables, a unique Arts & Crafts house built in 1900, is Grade 2 Listed. Character and period features include oak and terracotta floors, fireplaces, stone mullion windows and elegant moulded ceilings, open arcade to main staircase but there is also a tranquil, serene ambience that is harder to quantify maybe it's the way the light shines into the breakfast hall, or maybe it just reflects how hard David and Anne Watts work to get all the details right.

From the art work on the walls to the heated mirrors in the bathrooms, from the crisp white Egyptian cotton linen to the well-stocked tea tray, guests will find that their needs and wants have been anticipated. An attractive and spacious lounge is available for guests use.

Wi-Fi, is provided for guests' convenience free of charge. All rooms have an ipod docking base.

Four Gables is 100% smoke-free.

The house is in a peaceful setting down a private lane, yet only 5 minutes walk from the bustling Georgian village of Boston Spa with its restaurants, shops and riverside walks.

The beautiful gardens, extending over half an acre, include a well-tended croquet lawn which guests are free to play on, a 30-ft. sculpture carved from a broken cedar tree, two ponds, a Japanese garden, a sunken garden and are stocked with an interesting collection of plants and trees.

The Garden won a Gold award in 2011 - Yorkshire in Bloom. In April 2012 we are opening the garden as part of the National Garden Scheme.
