
There are a few places in Hampshire with the name Hook. The Hook mentioned here is a village located in the north of Hampshire near to the town of Basingstoke.
The village is located about ten kilometres east of the tow of Basingstoke and the village is also about fifty-eight miles northeast of the town of Southampton.
The village of Hook has a population of about eight thousand two hundred. The railway station located at Hook is able to offer direct rail links with places such as Southampton and also London Waterloo. The railway station is also able to offer indirect routes to places such as Salisbury and Reading. Most of the rail services are provided by South West Trains.
There is a reasonably sized business community within the local area. There is a large business park called Bartley Wood located about one kilometre from the centre of the village. This business park is the location of the headquarters for Virgin Media Inc, which is one of the biggest providers of cable television. The village also hosts a relatively small Tesco's supermarket.
During the time between 2004 and 2006 the village expanded eastwards and this was in the form of a residential establishment known as Holt Park.
There is a strong educational network within the village and this is in the form of two primary schools a high school and also two colleges.
