Goathland, located in North Yorkshire, is situated in the North York Moors National Park and as a result is a popular tourist destination. The town is located off the A169. Visitors will find the area is surrounded by stunning scenery that features a range of stone footpaths. The history of Goatland extends back to Viking times. During the 19th Century the village was a popular spa town. Today, Goathland is home to a number of guest houses and hotels, some of which are located near the local waterfall. The English village of Goathland is located within the Scarborough district, which is part of North Yorkshire. The village is also a civil parish. The village is located within the national park known as the North York Moors. The village is located just north of Pickering and just off the A169, which is the main road to Whitby. The village of Goathland is surrounded by beautiful scenery and the village also has the advantage that it is located on the steam railway line of the Yorkshire Moors. The village of Goathland has a population of about four hundred and seven.
