Faversham, located in Kent, is situated within the district of Swale. It is located about halfway between Canterbury and Sittingbourne. The area is home to an ancient sea port as well as a market town. Visitors will find the town located about 48 miles east of London. It is situated off the A2 road. James Pollock and Sons shipbuilders established a shipyard within the town of Faversham during 1916 and this was done at the request of Lord Fisher. Lord Fisher was the first lord of the admiralty. The town of Faversham already had a reputation for having a tradition within shipbuilding.

Faversham holds a record that shows that the highest recorded temperature within the town was thirty-eight and a half degrees centigrade and this is the highest temperature ever recorded within the United Kingdom. The highest temperature was recorded in 2003 on the 10th of August.

The town of Faversham has a population of about seventeen thousand seven hundred and ten and most of the population are British Citizens. Faversham is a parliamentary constituency that is part of Mid Kent and Faversham.

The largest employment sectors within Faversham are retail and manufacturing.
