The English town of Faversham is located within the Swale district in Kent. The town of Faversham is located about half way between Canterbury and Sittingbourne. The parish that is known as Faversham also includes a seaport that dates back to ancient times and also a market town. The town of Faversham is located about forty eight miles to the east of London and also about eighteen miles to the north east of Maidstone and also about nine miles to the west of Canterbury.

James Pollock and Sons shipbuilders established a shipyard within the town of Faversham during 1916 and this was done at the request of Lord Fisher. Lord Fisher was the first lord of the admiralty. The town of Faversham already had a reputation for having a tradition within shipbuilding.

Faversham holds a record that shows that the highest recorded temperature within the town was thirty-eight and a half degrees centigrade and this is the highest temperature ever recorded within the United Kingdom. The highest temperature was recorded in 2003 on the 10th of August.

The town of Faversham has a population of about seventeen thousand seven hundred and ten and most of the population are British Citizens. Faversham is a parliamentary constituency that is part of Mid Kent and Faversham.
